I was at the second show which was a significant improvement over the first show. I have posted my experiences at this show here before, but I will say the Stones have played better. I think the '89 show opening Steel Wheels at the Vet was much better and even more excitement since it was their return to stage after a seven year hiatus. With that said, the highlights for me in '81,

All Down The Line, period. Great album with a lot of great songs, but nothing compares to ADTL in my opinion.

Ya Ya's is the best. The only shortcoming is that is a single album, not a double like they would have liked to release that probably would have included tracks such as Satisfaction, Prodigal Son, and perhaps Under My Thumb/I'm Free medley. For that reason, I listen to the boot of the first NY show, some tracks recorded for YA YAs. You posed a question of a compilation live album

Great set lists with some of my hidden favorites like Moonlight Mile, Respectable, Just My Imagination, Whip, and a great closer of Sympathy. I saw them in D.C., the only show I think they played All Down the Line. It was only marginally received although it could be that I was screaming so loud at the end that I could not hear anyone else cheer. Anyway, Moonlight Mile was great, but when I

LIVE WIRE!!! If I was to pick a setlist, with no particular order, here are my 20. 1. Highway to Hell 2. Shot Down In Flames 3. If You Want Blood, You Got It 4. Hells Bells 5. Shoot To Thrill 6. Back In Black 7. You Shook Me All Night Long 8. Let's Get It Up 9. For Those About To Rock 10. Thunderstruck 11. Money Talk 12. Hard As a Rock 13. Stiff Upper Lip 14. Si

My dream set list, unfortunately, gets squashed by a reality check. The reality check is the Stones will do 20 songs, maybe 21 if you see them early in the tour. Sooooo, my set list will include some wishes, but some reality as well, meaning some warhorses. 1. Honky Tonk Women 2. Respectable or even better Summer Romance 3. Shattered 4. Dangerous Beauty 5. Tumbling Dice 6. Memory

I love most of these suggestions. How about one song that "labeled" them for about ten years...Sympathy for the Devil.

No way! Too slow! I- 80, if you're driving coast to coast. I know it's a joke, on a good Bobby Troup song, but really, if you're going to drive I-80 does go coast to coast.

Very funny, but I'm sick of that joke. I live only 20 miles from there so I've heard it a thousand times. Stones played here during opening leg of ABB, the biggest show ever, even larger than U2's Zoo TV Tour which kicked off in Hershey, following a week of rehearsals here. Springsteen is set to come here later this Summer. It's being billed as the biggest show ever in

Depending upon what and who you want to see, I can certainly make some suggestions, natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or Yosemite National Parks, Big cities to see such as Chicago, SF, NYC, historic sites in Philly, D.C. etc. I can also suggest how to get from here to there and length of travel time and time spent at each location. I'm not a travel agent, but have see

Although everyone has their favorites, I would add "Out of Control" from No Security. IMO, that track makes the album worthwhile. "Sympathy" from Ya Yas is better than the Love You Live version and if you're going to include Time Is On My Side, Just My Imagination, good tracks for sure, you can't forget about "She Was Hot" from Shine A Light or Live With

I know this is off topic, but since this is a Stones board, I thought I would weigh in here on the comparison between the two regarding set lists. Bruce does vary his set list A LOT more than the Stones, yet the Stones in comparison to the Who's recent tour and many other artists, at least deviate anywhere from one-four numbers a night. As many of you know, Mick likes to keep his opene

Hey skip stone and sweet charmed life, eat your heart out the Flyers have eliminated the darling Caps and we're moving on! As a season ticket holder, I don't expect a lot from this next round, but getting to the final 8 when last season we were dead last is a huge accomplishment. You can hate us all you want, our team is still playing!

I have a boot from all of the shows I attended, including some soundboards, but am missing the Baltimore '06 and D.C. '89 first show boot, if it even exists. Anyone can help with the Baltimore boot, I would be much obliged. Best boots from shows I attended: NYC '03 HBO Soundboard, Philly '99 Soundboard, Philly '81, soundboard, and best audience boot along with probab

No Security's "Out of Control" is still one of the best live releases in the last 30 years of the Stones. Yes, the rest of this release has its down side, but Out of Control captures Mick and the rest of the band playing their ass off and we've all seen the video that Mick performs his butt off here as much as he has for any Stones song in the last 30 years!

All Down the Line, Brown Sugar, or Jumpin' Jack Flash from Ladies and Gentlemen the Rolling Stones. Hands down, they're best performance caught on celluloid. On DVD, I would agree Satisfaction at MSG in '69 was fantastic! Of their post '81 shows I would agree to add "Out of Control" in '97, and without a doubt, IMHO, Mick's most energetic and best pe

Okay, I'm about to incure somebody's abuse and wrath with this one, but U2 is absoultely terrific live! Very few bands get most of the crowd so excited that it becomes almost like a religious experience as this band does. Maybe to many of you on this board you don't care for them, find them boring or overbearing or whatever, but they do have mass appeal and very few acts have suc

Good rules to start: Ok, here is my dream/realistic set with the understanding most of my dream songs won't be played, so let's say it is a realistic set list more than anything. 1. Honky Tonk Women (my choice would be Paint It, Black, but too quiet, no power chord). Actually, I think The Last Time would be a great opener and a poignant one at that, but Mick would not insinuate

I was at the 8/31/89 show in Philly Gazza is referring to. The band itself took the stage just after 9:30 and the show finished with fireworks included about 12:10. Don't forget, there was about a 10 minute interruption with the loss of power (sound only) at the tail end of Shattered which was never played again on that tour. Superstitious, because it was a great version, one of the best

Well, everybody has their favorites and the warhorses would truly dominate most everyone's best of CD. I did this several years ago and have since changed my mind about a few, but here goes: 1. Jumpin' Jack Flash 2. Honky Tonk Women 3. Gimme Shelter 4. Symathy for the Devil 5. Start Me Up 6. Brown Sugar 7. All Down The Line 8. Midnight Rambler (Live) 9. Shattered 1

I agree the NYC 7/26 version is a killer. I saw them in Hershey in '05 as well and this song was one of the best played that night and I have listened to the boot recently. The versions with Ronnie seem a little, uh, hollow, maybe not the right word, but not full in your face rock like the versions with MT. I will agree the versions on Handsome Girls from '78 are terrific and it w
