QuoteShawn20 QuoteSend It To me Biggest leap forward ever. Mick didn't even sing in 81, he had mouth seizures. I agree with the biggest leap thesis. I saw two of the 81 shows. My last 81 show was the 87,500 night at the Superdome. The next Stones' show I saw was the 89 Steel Wheels' show at the same dome. Miles apart - not even close. I thought it was a triumph. Better sta

QuoteChrisM No one seems interested in addressing that Keith's ability to play guitar has been severly hampered by his arthritis. One can wish all they want for the Stones to tour or at leat do afew gigs in honor of their 50th but a Rollings Stones gig without Keith being able to play is no Stones gig at all in my view. If anyone can point to any recordings or performances where Keith has b

QuoteKoen Do you really think MJ and the other Stones care what Keith writes in his book? They are all grown men, and had to deal with (British) tabloids for almost 50 years saying much worse things. I think everyone is taking it waaaay too seriously, looking for small details (no pun) and blowing it up (again, no pun). I thought it was an honest, candid book, Keith is speaking from his guts,

QuoteRoel Try here : Thank you for your response...just curiously, if I wanted to acquire other Mickboy remasters, is there a current link to access his (Torn & Frayed Productions) catalogue or this not possible? (I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but I am truly knocked out by the quality of his remasters). If anyone can assist, please e-mail at ssige

I was sent an original copy of this Mickboy remaster by a fellow collector and unfortunately the first few tracks off this disc do not play on my CD player- even after repeated cleaning. I love this two disc set and would like to have a replacement. Can someone point me in the direction of how I can track down a new copy. Much appreciated. Thanks, Scott...

It saddens me dearly that the Paradiso (as well as Brixton Academy)shows were not released in their entirety as a CD/DVD set...once again, another missed opportunity...From the snippets I've seen and heard of this stuff, the playing & energy was there..

QuoteSilver Dagger Simply the greatest pop song of all time. The beginning of garage punk, rock and punk itself - all can be traced down to this one incredible gem of a song. The way it starts up with that incessant riff, that grows and grows and carries Jagger's howling tale of sexual frustration right down the rock'n'roll highway. It's the song that nearly every hot bl

It saddens me that people quit their jobs, depleted their bank accounts, etc clinging to the prophecies of this 89 year retired engineer who previously predicted the end times in the 1990's. According to Associated Press: As Saturday drew nearer, followers reported that donations grew, allowing Family Radio to spend millions on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the doom

QuoteErik_Snow "Emotional Rescue"......what's not to like, apart from Indian Girl? Where The Boys Go. Down In The Hole" and "Dance" - those tracks are truely terrific, and the rest of the record is a real treat, as well I think the main-reason for people disliking this album, is that the tracks aren't compiled in a sensible order - It is very interesting y

As I have been slowly taking my time replacing my Stones vinyl album collection to CD (preferring to replace what I consider to be the essential stuff first Like Aftermath, Beggars through Exile, Some Girls),believe it or not- I finally got around to replacing my Emotional Rescue album to CD. I haven't really listened to this album in its entirety for many years, and I really dug it and appr

Quote24FPS You don't have to move with the times if they suck. As an 'older' fan am I supposed to listen to subpar musicians do weak versions of music made better almost 50 years ago? I recognize true talent, Jack White, Amy Winehouse, the Roots, and others, but they are few and far between. You can catch new bands every night on the last five minutes of Conan, Leno, Letterman,

MICK CONFIRMS: IT'S A DONE DEAL! The Rolling Stones will no longer tour! London, May 1st. Veteran rocker Mick Jagger officially announced today that the Rolling Stones will call it quits for good. This announcement came despite weeks of rumored Rolling Stones tour and album activity from various fan websites. Per a band meeting last month, the four principal members of the Rolling Stones

Quotestoned in washington dc at what point is a break in the tour too large to have it be considered the same tour.. in U2's case they had an over 9 month break October 28 2009 in Vancouver to August 6th 2010 in Turin(originally June 3rd Salt Lake pre-injury I find your comment to be right on....I mean, if your gonna tour (Stones included) for two or two 1/2 years, you would hope that y

I have been reading this thread with particular amusement. As I will be 55 next week (I just can't believe it! Where the hell did the time go?), both of my parents were from that "older", conservative generation that grew up during the depression. My father in particular, HATED Mick Jagger & the Rolling Stones and he made his opinion known. If you weren't Sinatra or Crosby

Quoteorganicjoe My brother who's 60 years old introduced me to the stones in 67 I was 13. Without him knowing absolutely nothing about Mickboy I played him numerous versions of No Expectations and SFTD. For best sounding he picked Mentholated Sandwich. Since I have upgraded my stereo system, Mickboy's Mentholated Sandwich (which sounded great to begin with) sounds ABSOLUTELY fantastic

Over several years, I have been slowly upgrading my stereo system one piece at a time. One of passions in life is listening to great music and my ultimate goal is to own a very high end system that would allow hours of great listening pleasure. At the present time, my sound system consists of a McIntosh C220 tube pre-amp, a McIntosh MC252 amp, B & W 804 speakers, and a Rotel RCD 1072 CD playe
