I spent 2-2 1/2 hours trying to call and/or get through to tickets.com for Bruce's show in Buffalo in 4/12, and by the time I got though, only 300 level seats were left! I guess I am going to have try to go the day of the show and see if I get lucky with a ticket drop.

QuoteCrackinup QuoteDoxa QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Wow, Doxa. That 3rd paragraph is heavy. A heavy hitter in a great thread. Thanks. I might go over the top in some of my words, but I think now - at laest personally - that there is a demand for a profilic 1975 official release. We have been now treated with wonferful 1972/73 and 1978 releases. I take this wonderful thread - into which I can&#

QuoteErik_Snow QuoteSighunt I have listened to several 75-76 bootleg shows (and attended the last show of the 75 tour in Buffalo-they played there twice during that tour), and the early ones like the June Buffalo & Toronto shows smoke. But the show you attended in August is an exception from other late 1975 shows, as Jagger is completely out of it, there's hardly other Rolling Stones c

QuoteTurd On The Run I brought this subject up tangentially on the thread "TWITTER ANNOUNCES NEW BOOTLEG" but I thought to start a new thread about this because it is a subject that -- though insider stuff -- might be appreciated by the hard-core regiment here. I saw the Stones in Madison Square Garden in 1975 on nights 1 and 4 of their 6 night stand in New York. This is one of the St

I myself would be very surprised to see anything officially released from the 75/76 tour for many of the reasons sited previously. Would Mick Jagger ok archived releases of performances from this time period which might detract from their legacy? Hard to tell. It is difficult for me to get past Jagger's singing style during the mid 1970's and several of the audio boots that I have heard

I would certainly place Midnight Rambler as being in the top five of songs that I still enjoy hearing at a Stones concert (although many of the versions I have heard during the 2000's with maybe the exception of the HBO special featured on the Licks DVD to my ears have been lukewarm at best), however, not necessarily for the content, but in the way it rocks with that fast tempo and instrumen

During a lecture and performance this week at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Joel told the crowd that "Bono's gonna kill me for this..." before saying that when he attende

I only have one show from 1970 in my collection, that being Sister Morphine's incomplete Paris show from 9/23. Are there any other recommendations of other shows in better quality?

QuoteNoCode0680 Mick and Keith need each other, and each of them left to their own devices wouldn't do anything nearly as great as they do together. I remember reading an interview with Keith back around the time Bridges To Babylon came out in which he said that Mick is very trendy, he's very into whatever music is happening right now, etc. And it was his job to try and reel Mick in

Nice videos. For all the historians out there, was this the first time Jagger is seen playing guitar on a video. Unless I'm mistaken, Jagger didn't actually strap on a guitar on the live concert stage until he played on Fingerprint File during the 75 tour, correct?

Regarding the which is better, I think this is another one of those "apples vs. oranges" argument. I think the guitar stylings of Mick Taylor suited the period from 69-74 aptly while Ronnie Wood's guitar skills were appropriate for the 75-82 period. However, I think on extended solos, Wood just doesn't cut it. I have listened to several booted shows from the 75-76 tour (which

QuoteTeaAtThree They were outtakes, people. What the hell! They release a set of outtakes -- which we have longed for them to do -- and now people complain that they should've remained outtakes? Holy Shiite! T@3 Several of the local Stones fans where I live not only like the outtakes/bonus disc but have commented that they like these tunes BETTER than the original release!

On my wishlist besides the fan favories such as the El Mocambo shows: I would be very happy if they released the 5/95 Paradiso Club gigs (as an audio/DVD set) as the venue and setlist was a departure for the time period. The other gem of a show that has been circulating as a bootleg for years (but I don't know if this was ever professionally recorded?), was the one-off Nicaraguan Eathquake

Quotestonescrow QuoteSighunt I still find it interesting on this board that when the subject of Bruce comes up, I can expect the usual suspects to chime in with their usual derogatory comments. Maybe devoted Stones fans see him as a threat, I don't know... I have really been listening to this disc a lot and overall, I think it is great. The one blemish I can't seem to get past is what they did with the aforementioned Lucky in Love, which by some measures may not be the greatest bootlegged tune circulating, but I think they could have taken a risk (and with some cosmetic surgery), released this with the original lyrics intact rather than create

I've been listening to Some Girls in my car the last couple days and I think overall they did a great job with this re-issue. Even though they "touched up" these previously unreleased bootleg tracks with extra/new vocals, etc, I like the choice of tunes and the sequencing making this, in my estimation a better listening experience than the Exile release. These songs seem to flow an

Coming home from work and reading this post has been really gratifying as a Stones fan. The release of archived material, whether it is on CD format or not, is something that this fan has dreamed about for quite a long time. It makes it worth it to me, especially given all the amount of time and effort that myself and many dedicated others put into writing petitions, letter writing campaigns, etc

Alright, suppose the Stones do actually tour next tour. As a long time fan, I love the Stones just as much as anybody, but I've had to stop and ask myself this question: Is it really worth paying exorbitant prices to see 70 year old guys play stale warhorses and whose musicianship has significantly deteriorated? UNLESS early concert reviews indicate that their shows are being played in small

I have watched this DVD a couple times since it was released. Visually, it is very stunning! However, I cannot get past the fact that this is very speeded up and that (especially on tunes like Satisfaction) the Stones sound like chipmunks. I don't know if newer DVD players have the capability of slowing down DVDs, but there appears to be no way of manually slowing down Let's spend the N

When thinking about the Beatles, it astonishes me what they accomplished during the 7 or 8 years they were together (excluding the late 50's through the Cavern days). Certainly, they weren't the greatest live attraction (although had they stayed together long enough to tour beyond more sophiscated sound systems, they may have proven otherwise to skeptics), but they kept leaping forward

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteToru A I like to hear their "Self Covers." Self Cover is Japanglish, I guess. How do you say in English? Remake album? Anyway, if they play Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed or Sticky Fingers in the studio and record them in the same order as they were before at this moment, it might be fascinating. A very cool idea that will sadly never happen. Mick is a b

Thanks for posting this. I had this issue of Rolling Stone when it first came out and I somehow lost it. At the time, I thought that it was (and arguably still is) one of the best Jagger interviews I had read.
