Quotemark666 The problem with the 60's concerts are they were so short. Would they sell as well as longer concerts? why not ? i would buy one song !

Quotechamp72 Well I think I'd prefer to go with the current Stone's comment of them trying to get Taylor into playing form rather that some old Birds Custard eating ex-member's interview that has been translated from English into Spanish and then back into English. Also, the comment says "we thought about it but..." as if he is part of any decision-making. Not sure how re

QuoteHis Majesty Quotemagee mineko The right channel of Loving Cup is Taylor. The guitar phrase of 2:24~2:32 resembles Taylor of "I'm Free" ['69 live] . The vibrato of 2:53~2:57 is Taylor's characteristic. It is not Keith. You explained it perfectly. indeed ,perfectly , but also wrongly though . left channel accoustic right channel electric is certai

Quotemsw2525 Their cover of all of Exile on halloween a few years ago is outstanding. Ive seem them a few times and am going again this summer. Great band to see live for sure. i listened to it a few times it is very nice , a few unexpected extended songs great ! one thing though : the songs have lost ALL stonesy feel to them.

QuoteHis Majesty Quotekleermaker QuoteHis Majesty Maybe he regrets joining The Rolling Stones more than he regrets leaving them. Stern c.s. obviously have it the other way around. I recall reading here recently a quote by him about this, seem to remember it hinted at what I mentioned. It makes more sense to me if that is how he feels because other than money, I see and hear no reason for him

QuoteMathijs There's no Taylor on Loving Cup. It seems that the tracks that where recorded in LA do not feature Taylor on guitar at all -it seems he was absent for most of the sessions as a guitarist, but did some bass overdubs. And this actually for me leads to a basic question concerning the sessions -who where present in LA from december 71 to March 72? The story always was that on

QuoteRedhotcarpet And now the Q I never got an A on: who plays the slide, is it just something added by a fan or was it there in 1971/1972. well , it seems a ( not very good) try-out and if it isn't added as you say by a fan , i'd say it was keith.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Taylor was great. I would have liked him a bit higher in the mix when he took off, round 4:00, though. He could have beefed it up a little. Nice jazz/latin scales in there as well. Brings back the memories of Time Waits For No One and parts of I'm Free live from 1969. i 'd really like to hear that in glorious hi fi stereo on the next release Quotecrumbli

QuoteErik_Snow Quotestonesdan60 QuoteErik_Snow Quotestonesdan60 Speaking of Brussells - I used to own a bootleg I wonder if anyone else is familiar with. It had an odd title like, "The Jean Clarke Sonic Memorial Barbeque," and the credits said it was from Brussells 1973 without mentioning which specific show. It had pretty good sound and was greatly edited; only a handful of songs; sing

QuoteNasty Habits Quotetreaclefingers QuoteNasty Habits I have to say I think Slave is probably my favourite post 1980 track it has a great groove to it and if I'm not mistaken I think it's a Fender Rhodes piano on that track, well that just sounds awesome. Shame they didn't play it on the 81 tour. I think Worried about you and Tops are close behind it. Definitely the best 3 tracks

QuoteHis Majesty Listening to Paris 1967 now, there's a load of bum notes, going out of time, some instances of where's 1? guitars and dulcimer out of tune etc... Given the above will mean this won't, if they even have tapes from it, be part of these 6 stonesarchive/googlemusic releases. Tis a glorious racket, but I don't believe Mick would allow such a raw performance to

Quoteaprilfool Don't dream about a possible download of El Mocambo. This is the GRAAL. If this show must be edited, I think it should be on regular CD edition and with a super deluxe box set too and vinyl if we are very lucky. with the available tracks apparantly ( from some sources ) containing 18 guitar overdubs , it is very unlikely , unless they dubbed the whole show , then . pity . .

QuoteNoCode0680 I've personally never heard all that much similarity between "Anybody Seen My Baby?" and "Constant Craving". I mean, there's some, and it was probably a good idea to give k.d. Lang and Ben Mink credit, and I can kind of hear it, but if it weren't for the fact that I have been told that they had to give them credit due to similarities, I don'

Quotestonesncrowes There was an episode in the last season of the TV show The Wonder Years that was titled "Ladies and Gentlemen...The Rolling Stones". The entire episode revolves around a rumor that the Stones are playing at some dive bar and the kids spend the entire night driving from place to place trying to find them. Since The Wonder Years takes place in the 60's there's

QuoteReagan Mathijs, In a way, I agree with you. When I said they filmed all three MSG shows, I meant they had multiple cameras running during all three shows, not that they obtained usable footage of every song of every show. I seem to recall hearing on the Gimme Shelter commentary that the cameras had 10 or 12 minute film mags, so there would have been a lot of gaps due to film reloading.

Quotetatters Quote71Tele '72 and '73 versions of this tune have never been equalled. They've been surpassed! My problem with 1972-73 versions is that Mick Taylor plays the solo's too fast with no sustain on the notes. Plus I don't like his guitar tone. This song is meant to be played slowerrrrrr. When played fast, it loses its psychedelic feel. The 1995 version he
