I am a hater by nature, so unless I am already into the opener... I try to avoid them. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule but in general I would rather be smoking, snorting and drinking prior to my main event rock show.

talent has little to do with rock-n-roll rock-n-roll is a religion, a spirit and an attitude some of the best profits in rock-n-roll had little musical ability (IE the Ramones or Neil Young) but still make great rock music. IMO there are THE ROLLING STONES and then there is everybody else.

Quotetoomuchforme GNR or not GNR is not the point. We don't care. In a couple of hours I will see Motorhead live. Phil animal Taylor and Fast Eddie Clark are no more in the band. So is it still Motorhead or a Kilmister band ? who give a shit. Just the music counts. WOW toomuch that is a great statement. I fully agree and would like to subscribe to your news-letter

Again I would argue that GnR has ALWAYS been an Axl solo project. Adler kicked out, nobody complained when Matt started playing drums Dizzy Reed added, not a peep Izzy leaves and Gilby Clark steps right in. 3 guys from the classic line-up remain in a NOW 6 man band and yet that is still a band for everyone. So after UYI tour it all starts to crumble (drugs and money can do that to a group)

QuoteBig Al Track 4 is calssic GnR. On the first listen, the rest ranges from the OK to a little iffy. Going to give it another spin tonight, thought I bought the Killers latest as well. The latter is superb and I can't seem to yank it from the CD player! I agree, track 4 (Street of Dreams) is the strongest track. But the album gets better for me on every listen. I liked it the first

Quotekeefriffhard4life this album is brilliant. sorry axl isn't trying to recreate the sound of past albums like other bands do. its a progressive step from use your illusions. I agree. I think this is as good of a GnR record as any of them. I always liked this band and I still do. Go see them live and you will not be able to tell the difference between them and the classic line-up.

I have been listening to this since I bought it yesterday. I really like a big chunk of this album (and mind you, IMO, there is no perfect GnR album... they all have some crap in them) I can agree that it is, at times, over produced but it sounds very much like the album that would have followed the UYIs whether it was released in 1995 or 2008. Also, to everyone bitching that this is NOT G

QuoteElmo Lewis Health/age issues are gonna start popping up (unfortunately). Get a grip on reality, 2012 is 4 years off. The Foutain of Youth still hasn't been found - it's not in the bottom of a Jack Daniels bottle, fer sure. Quoteohnonotyouagain I always refer to a collection of songs as an album, whether the format is vinyl, CD, cassette, MP3, whatever. In 2005 I was asking people "have you heard the Stones' new studio album" and everybody knew what I meant. I use record as an interchangeable term with vinyl. This thread brings up a good point, what is the proper way to refer to this stuff, or is

QuoteJesus MurphyWho needs f--king Guitar Hero or Rock Band?!!! Pick up an actual guitar (learn to play it first, of course; it's not hard), throw a good Stones or Zep show in the CD player and jam away! Beats hell out of practing scales... here is the thing, with radio declining and there being less and less ways to hear the music... these games are GREAT ways to turn young folks on to

Quoteloog droogWhat bothers me about The Dark Knight is that we've taken entertainment designed for kids and made it too intense for children. who said it was for children? I have MANY young people in my life (my kids and my friends kids and the friends of my kids and my friends kids , nephews, nieces) and I do not know a single kid that reads comics... not one. I read Batman graphi
