Half-Time entertainment at football matches is an utter joke!

Bruce, don't do it!

Well then, who's gonna be in the Supe? The New Jersey Giants or the New Jersey Jets? And where the hell is the Supe being held at next year? I can't even remember where this year's Supe was held at, yet alone the past few.

Tampa, FL

At least the girls at Hooters look like they should be dancing in a cage.

I'm betting on "Born In The USA," "Born To Run," and "American Land."

Didn't he already do this a few years ago?

No. He's turned it down previously, though.

Oddly enough Mike Appel - his manager at the start of his career - tried to get the TV companies to book him as the half time act (performing a never released and never heard song called "Balboa vs The Earthslayer") for the 1973 Superbowl, when he was a complete unknown.

A tad optimistic!

it's sort of like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame--even if the artist thinks it's a joke, at this point they won't turn it down. Once McCartney did it, the Stones felt like they could do it without losing face. With their examples, now artists of any stature can do it, except Dylan.

Hold on, kids. The Bruce camp has neither confirmed nor denied this rumor. is this an illustration of how "magic" is practiced? Think about it.

It is gonna be interesting. If the Jets or the Giants make it into the playoffs, I will be very curious to see if the refs "pull strings" or make any fishy calls in the earlier playoff games, to try and get the New York/New Jersey team into the Super Bowl. I'm NOT saying that is what I think WILL happen, not saying that I think it will be rigged... but you have to admit -- from a marketing standpoint, if Bruce is playing the halftime show, the pressure and hype to get a "New Jersey team" into the big game is gonna be tremendous. And if it happened it would drive the TV ratings and the revenue for the league through the roof.

I have one of my famous gut hunches that he'll play Candy's Room, Prove It All Night, and that one he did about Tom Jones.

Nonsense. The half time act is a sideshow, and nothing more. You're suggesting its such a big deal that the choice of performer could actually influence the outcome of other sporting events in a multi millin dollar industry in the weeks prior to the game itself? You must be kidding. Its the biggest sporting event in the US with the biggest audience and has a worldwide TV audience. It doesnt need Bruce, the Stones or even the second coming of Elvis to help the ratings.

Whatever songs he chooses to do, he will tell the band right as they walk on stage...that would be like him, wouldn't it?

Well I'm sure the network would like to know. They're not so fond of surprises. Altough an audible from BTR to Kitty's Back would be precious.

I'm banking on Born to Run, Glory Days, and Radio Nowhere. Bruce is a consumate plugger of his most recent album, and there's no way he's going to perform the halftime show and not do something off the new album.

I could care less about the halftime show. I'll be eating and drinking in the other room. F the halftime show and the commercials.

I'm from the old school....let a high school/college marching band do the halftime gig.

No. That's Bob Dylan.
