I wanna ask you another question:in your opinion how many copies Blues album can sell?!In my opinion, with a good publicity...600K
A new studio album of originals I think could sells 1 million/1.2...Twice as much...With a good "concept" with the European Tour, don't you?!

If they had recorded 7 originals worth releasing them they would have recorded another 3 and we would have gotten a new album of originals this year. Their original stuff (finished songs, unfinished songs, sketches, jams, demos, whatever) turned out to be... not that good, I guess. So they simply decided to release the "warm-up-session". So we luckily get a blues album after all these years.

It's sort of amazing that everyone's excited about an album that took them 3 days (or so the story goes) to record and it might actually sell as it's "sell-able" to the masses, versus yet another album of new material of "absolutely no importance" (copyright Rocky Dijon talking about the aborted 2002 album) that would have taken months to record with the usual drama involved.
Did I actually say that? I can be a prick, can't I?

It could well be that they're starting an "American Recordings" trek like Johnny Cash and whatever new material Mick has can be released on solo albums, which is what ABB was for the most part with the Stones as sessions musicians. And if it's the "last one" (you never know...), well they will have come full circle, not a bad way to end things.
IF this album sell well (it has a chance, December is the best month of the year for sales) we can see another one in a couple of years, it took less than a week to record this one, so another 11-12 covers are very easy to record with few time on studio.
If they go to TV and perform one or two tracks it could be a hot seller on Christmas.

Wow, first thought is that Mick actually took my advice and recorded "Commit A Crime" with the Stones! He did a great version with Jeff Beck a few years ago for a White House event:

Just to get a little feel how number 2 will kick in after JUST YOUR FOOL.

It quite remains me of From The Cradle, the blues album recorded by Clapton in the 90's. It was live in the studio, and for me it was a strong LP.

Apologies are in order, my bad ! I was correct on the content but it was from "Lem Motlow" and I've been made to "pay" for my error by having to trawl the forums to find that exact message -> [iorr.org] (original message edited). Again, I'm most sorry
What a relief it was Lem that was a prick and not me! Mind you, it's easy to confuse us since we've been friends since we were four or five years old. I remember standing by the Rapid Transit station when I was on my way to reform school and I saw Lem for the first time in years. He was carrying some magazines under his arm. WIDE LOAD, BIG 'N' NASTY, MESSY BOTTOMS. I said to him, "Hey, Lem! I haven't seen you in years, but where'd ya get the magazines?" The rest, of course, is pornographic history.

When they do Indio and Vegas, they should do the Blues numbers on the small stage. That would be phenomenal
