For me it's one of their finest tunes. Like Out if Time it's one of the tunes, I always wanted to listen being played live. Who knows... Out Of Time made it and was such a cracker.
I cover both tunes with my accoustic guitar. If a song works well being stripped down to it's basics and I find a way to play the arrangement on my accoustic, it's a great song gor me. I did the same with Lady Jane, How Can I Stop, Slipping Away, All About You, She Smiled Sweetly, Live With Me and some others.

The Mannheim and Vienna performances are great with lousy bootleg sound

quite good aud recordings for the era.

Imho there's not point in even trying this one live without MT being onstage...

RE the studio version, I find CW's playing remarkable. He just "walks" through the track when another drummer would totally overplay.
Charlie was great.

I was hoping we might get a live version on the GHS deluxe instead of getting Brussels again!

Maybe they could have tried it out with Taylor on the 50 and Counting Tour. But I think Wood could play it also, but maybe not today. It would have been interesting on the 1975 tour with Preston

This is one of my favorite songs, off one of my favorite Stones albums. This song, Winter, and Hide Your Love make me instantly think of snow on the ground.

i think woods could still pull off this song

not as well as taylor or as well as if he where younger but i'd rather have 100 years with ronnie doing his best then miss you again

Too bad they only played this song twice on the 1973 tour. The Mannheim and Vienna performances are great with lousy bootleg sound. This song is one of my favorites. It could have even been played during the Wood years also, because I think it suits Woods style of playing. It would have been better on the 1973 tour than Dancing With Mr D

Thank god he didn't, certainly not the studio version. He lacks the finesse.

I understand they dropped Silver Train after a couple of performances because it may sound too much like All Down the Line.But100 Years Ago would have sounded great by the time they got to London.

Taylor was already in heaven when they played the song live.

This is what happens when the audience misses the Jaggers joke. I feel no remorse. You all deserve this.
