One of my favorites as well. Love it even more since the GHS Super Deluxe came out.

The Mannheim and Vienna performances are great withlousy bootleg sound
Maybe they could have tried it out with Taylor on the 50 and Counting Tour. But I think Wood could play it also, but maybe not today. It would have been interesting on the 1975 tour with PrestonQuote

quite good aud recordings for the era.
Imho there's not point in even trying this one live without MT being onstage...
RE the studio version, I find CW's playing remarkable. He just "walks" through the track when another drummer would totally overplay.
Charlie was great.

Too bad they only played this song twice on the 1973 tour. The Mannheim and Vienna performances are great with lousy bootleg sound. This song is one of my favorites. It could have even been played during the Wood years also, because I think it suits Woods style of playing. It would have been better on the 1973 tour than Dancing With Mr D
I understand they dropped Silver Train after a couple of performances because it may sound too much like All Down the Line.But100 Years Ago would have sounded great by the time they got to London.Quote

Thank god he didn't, certainly not the studio version. He lacks the finesse.

What about forests? Same thing, I know. Or even savannahs? Marshes? Swamps?
