By the label and because of special types of bottles. Coca-Cola is famous for its "contour bottle". In the picture with Keith you can see the Pepsi logo (turned away) on the bottleneck.

I would imagine that Bob Bonis Archive rather you purchase the photo of the Pepsi rather than drink it for free...

I think that when you apply (just once appears to me as enough) something like "Photoshop" sharpening on this image, You'll be fine.
Don't forget, this photo was made almost 60 years ago, so even kind of reflex camera's, if one could afford it, in those days had limitations
