Alot of hard rock bands recorded at Little Mountain back in the 80's. Bob Rock and Bruce Fairbairn were great producers/engineers. I believe AC/DC are recording at the Warehouse studios in Gastown which is owned by Bryan Adams. They recorded their Black Ice album there.

That's what I thought I saw as well, I mentioned it in an earlier post.

They delivered a slick clean radio-friendly sound that now sounds super-dated (imo). Just listen to "Thunderstruck" confused smiley

"Mutt" Lange in the early 80's gave ACDC a slick clean radio-friendly sound that has aged very well imo. Just listen to "Back In Black" thumbs up

Hi DCBA, I agree about Mutt. H2H, BIB and FTATR all sound awesome. When Mutt started producing Def Leppard, I think the sound got a bit too overproduced, especially the background vocals. He got a similar sound with Shania. I wish AC/DC would get Mutt to do another album!
Rock/Fairbairn's styles might be a bit dated but they still made a lot of albums that still sound pretty good like Dr. Feelgood, Pump, Sonic Temple, Metallica Black album, etc.

In Vancouver. 6 weeks.

Slight correction, they've been in Vancouver at Warehouse since May 1st. In fact they've left now. Whether that's left for good or for a break no one knows

But in mid May when Brian had to leave for a week to take part in a race in Italy he said then they'd already done 5 songs

They don't mess about. Black Ice also took just 6 weeks

Roll on the tour

Announced on 96fm radio in Perth on Sunday 22nd June that AC/DC look like touring later in the year.....as in 2014

Brian himself announced that last week.

AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson says that it looks “very likely” that the iconic Australian group will be taking to the road before the end of the year.
In a new post on his racing website, Johnson thanks his fans for their support of his show ‘Cars That Rock,’ admitting “…even though it may not show, I was real nervous and so am very relieved that you all seem to be enjoying it.”
He mentions that he hopes to shoot more ‘Cars That Rock’ episodes in the future but that “There is the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC – and it looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year.”

The Black Ice tour by AC/DC was their most sucessful tour ever. I really doubt, that you can see them as support for the Stones again!

Was it always "support ?" The gigs with Angus and Malcolm and Rock Me Baby were more a mutual love in but I'm not sure Angus would want to do it on his own ...

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has laughed off rumours the band were set to retire.

“Angus Young will never retire,” Rudd said in Melbourne today.

“We were never going to retire. It’ll never happen. Angus will never retire and as long as Angus never retires I won’t f---ing retire either.

The rumours started after Malcolm Young revealed he was taking temporary leave from the band to battle a health condition the band have taken a pact not to discuss in public.

His nephew Stevie Young has stepped in as a replacement.

“There is an AC/DC tour planned for the 40th anniversary of the band, but I don’t know all the details yet,” Rudd said.

“I’ll get a call a month before they need me. We’ve done some long, hard tours. It’s not easy. You do it for 18 months you’re the walking dead when you finish, especially as you get older. But everything’s great in the band, we’re ready to fire up on all cylinders again.”

Rudd revealed that Angus Young has single-handedly taken songwriting duties for their 15th album in May in Vancouver with producer Brendan O’Brien.

“Angus wrote everything,” Rudd said.

“I don’t know when it’s coming out, I’ve asked Angus to email me some of it now they’ve done more work on it, I’m really keen to hear it finished. My (drumming) parts were done in ten days and it sounded great when I left. I really enjoyed making this album.”
