My week is ruined.

I can't imagine how David Bowie feels. My dad and I are in near tears so I can't imagine how people who actually knew him feel.

I'm just totally in disbelief. Holy jesus.

The Berlin tour with Hunter and Wagner will stay as one of the best tour ever

Indeed. This has to be my favourite Lou Reed video:

An all-time fave. He was responsible for some of the very best (VU and Nico) and very worst (Lulu) albums I own. But, even when he was a pretentious fop, he had the nerve to try and fail gloriously.

Thank you for so much greatness Lou. I really liked your last album a couple of years ago. Everything else seemed so pale in comparison...

I'll never forget his concerts in Basel (1979) and Milan (1980): perfect days.
Thank you very much, Lou

This is deeply saddening. Lou was a true original, and it's so hard to believe that he's gone.

Here's one of my favorite Lou tracks, little known but oh so much fun ...

RIP, Lou.

I think he just played yesterday at the Bridge Benefit. If so, at least he likely enjoyed himself on his last day here. He's featured in this 8 hr clip

Sad news for sure. Listening to his 1989 album New York right now.

There's no way he played yesterday at the Bridge School Benefit. As comforting of a thought as that would be. I don't think he's played live at least since the beginning of the year, if that.

Gutted.

Been a fan for almost 40 years.

Met him once and he was surprisingly pleasant and affable - not at all like the public persona.

Just been listening to news on BBC Radio 2,and it was the first news report with a short audio of him talking in London.
Just switched over to BBC news channel and top story there with film clips and chat to people who worked with him.
Shows what an iconic figure he was.

Was always a casual fan, but saw him only once, as part of the Amnesty International Concert at the L.A. Forum in 1986...in an evening of incredible performances (U2, Peter Gabriel, Sting), his set was right up there with the best of them.

Very sad... he was a real genious.

The Velvet Underground and his music will stay forever.

I saw him in 1981 and he was fantastic.
