I really can't see who is the better one:

People, who need heroes and who do want to believe in god(s)

or

People, who used to play a hero or who are telling us stories about god(s) they suggest to know, personally, naturally ...

or

People, who will punish those liars and jugglers after they have been unmasked, because of heavy disappointment about their own stubborn gullibility ...

I'm a little confused, still, indeed, ...

confused smiley

Yeah, specially this question :

2. Why are you doing this with me, Oprah Winfrey? I'm not known for my cycling knowledge or for pointed follow-up questions or my investigative journalistic skills. In fact, it's the opposite.

This is news..not a show.

Acc to local medias L.A. is going to start a tell-all/smearing campaign against everyone he met in his career.

Floyd Landis, Jean-Marie Leblanc (the prez of "Le Tour" who never ever saw anything suspicious) and Hans [sorry Koen] Hein Verbruggen should buy a steel helmet now!

Funny how alot of people here hate this guy.

2) he rode a bicycle and cheated, so what. It's not like having Bush as a president.

No, Bush was more in the trillion-cheating category, while Lance was just a million fraud...

A cheat and a fraud and to make things worse he tried to wreck anyone that spoke out against him. He makes Bonds and Clemens look like nice guys.

I read he starts to open his gob now because under Texas laws you can be accused of perjury for three years only after a testimony under oath. After that all cases are automatically dropped.

And (you already guessed that) he solemnly stated that he never took stuff more than three years ago!

YEAH! grinning smiley

Funnily enough, I believe he's on record for admitting cocaine use in the 70s.

The thing here is the size of the lie and the huge let down to all the people who believed in the story. L.A. was a hero to many including millions of kids. How do you explain the truth? This is certainly not the Barry Bonds or Clemmens story. It goes way beyond that and there are enough reasons to hate the guy.

I'm not naive about the sport of cycling and unfortunatly L.A. coincided in an era of the sport where doping made the difference between supertardom or riding in the peloton. He had choices along the way and he blew every single one in the worst manner, including destroying anything or anyone that got in his way.

I don't hate him that much cause he never fooled me and he was not my hero.
But along the way, there is big trail of broken hearts, confused kids, legal matters and so on.

I guess Hollywood is just waiting to see where it all ends.
A few years ago it was a Disney movie, no it looks more like Oliver Stone.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Not a good last few weeks for Armstrongs as it was reported that Neil also lied according to his brother:

Neil Armstrong lied: 'One small step for man' was preplanned

Of course Lance cheated in the most brutal way, but let's face it, all the greats cheated.
If you got no talent and ambition, just forget it, even EPO or whatever won't help you out. To me Lance is still a great cyclist.

You are short changing a lot of the greats. Yes a lot of modern athletes cheat but not all and guys like Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Joe Montana etc. etc. didn't use performance enhancing drugs.

LA cheated at a much bigger scale than other cheaters which makes him so "special".
I hope he will pay back the money he stole with an incredible nerve and arrogance !
