RE UNSTOPPABLE STONES - pic above. Yeah, I'm in NZ. The catalogue number is LKM6004 released 1965, red label. Rereleased 1969 and again in 1978, always in mono with Blue label and with the different covers you see on eBay. Very common to see with the Australian cover, not many of these -around 1000 printed in NZ. You are correct, it's the same from as the 5X5 EP
If the first release of this was in '65, what I find interesting is why? At a cursory glance, at least half the songs were already on album...I'm just wondering why they'd bother putting out a repackage this early?
Don't get me wrong, it's cool and I want one! Just wondering what their rationale would have been.

Our second Stones album was called 12x5 , released with the USA cover, then Unstoppable Stones. We didn't get Rolling Stones #2 LP. Decca NZ was an affiliate of Australia and possibly had a choice.

That's right, NOW was not released here back in 1965.
We also got Decembers Children with more or less the same cover as USA. It was the first LP to be originally issued with orange unboxed Decca labels. The NZ edition of this original US compilation is also very rare, since it was never repressed and deleted after the 1960's. This LP was also not available in Australia.
Taken from Rolling Stones Worldwide III by Chistoph Maus hardback book
I have mint copies of this one too.

Thanks, I'm getting a bit of an education here on the 'down under' stones, thanks for indulging me.
So do you have the original Under My Thumb/Route 66, 45 release, and do you know why they released that as a single in your neighbourhood, but nowhere else (at least I think nowhere else!)?

Looks like some sort of 'post cold war' Russian issue.
I've seen them several times on EBAY.
What I'd like to know is why'd they go with a different cover....I mean if the crotch shot was a problem, why didn't they just go wit a severed hand inside a can of treacle.
That one's a proven winner!

Happy that I got a relative bargain! Excellent condition, no insert, just plain paper cover for LP.

Yes, that's a bit pricey. I'll have to get that at some point on an EBAY deal, if Boston 2006 or Steffiestones don't outbid me!

These Soviet bootlegs are awful. But some of the translations are really funny - Brown Sugar as Chocolate ><

OK, I don't own this puppy, but would like to...Stef, Boston anyone?:
The alternate (original?) US London Pressing of Big Hits, (High Tide and Green Grass)
Notice the unique lettering on the front...highly desired, highly sought after, highly rare, and highly expensive....look at what it sold for a few years ago. I remember only once seeing this on EBAY:
