I know I shouldn't have opened it up. At the time I didn't know vinyl would be available and I was just dying to hear it on a record. I don't even know the event that it was signed at, becuase I bought it on ebay for like $25.
Id love to know where it was signed by all 4. yet another stones mystery.

My latest purchase. The Lord's Taverners Charity Album is the title usually given to an album produced by Decca in 1965, featuring 14 artists under the Decca label (Decca LK 4695). Decca itself advertised the album under the name of 14 Great Artists, while the name on the sleeve is 14 New Recordings. In the United States the album was released as England's Greatest Hitmakers.
The sleeve also carries this text:
"The profit from this record will be donated to the Lord Traverners for the National Playing Fields Association, together with the royalty which has been personally given by each of these famous artists."
This text is missing from the US version, which also has a more prominent title.
All songs were recorded specially for this album and had never been released before.
This is the regular mono copy with the sample mono test pressing.

Here is a recent one. Got it 6 month ago, but my links didn`t work. Great sound quality and great cover work. A real fun to listen. So if they only would make an official release there would be no need to release stuff like this .

Are these fakes, or authentic? Love it if they actually did an official vinyl release for this, but I didn't think that was in the cards?

I'm pretty sure it's the same one. I shall confirm when it gets here.
Have you got the Exile one they did too?

Wow...very cool link, thanks for that. Didn't realize that the album was available in Germany PRIOR to the sleeve being completed. Love to know the story behind that one!

So my Some Girls out-takes L.P. arrived.
Sadly it had a big crack right through the first track.
The seller kindly sent out a replacement that very same day.
It has arrived today and it looks wonderful.
Sadly I have never seen a record so badly cut off centre, the arm on my Thorens looks like it is swaying to the music. It sounds quite horrid.
I guess this will just be an item to look at rather than listen to. Oh Well.

The story behind it as far as I can tell - corrections are more than welcome !
German DECCA used British sleeves a few times and for Throught The Past & Let It Bleed they put out Express-Ausgaben (express releases).
1) Their Satanic Majesties Request:
German DECCA used both - with and without 3D-image - sleeves from the UK before they finally had a fold-out sleeve ready without the 3D-image. In fact I have a 3rd variation with the 3D-image glued upside down but that one's rather a "misprint".
2) Through The Past Darkly
released with an Express-artwork to be on time with the release date before the lay-out sketch was available
3) Let It Bleed
same as above
4) Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!
the most interesting one - the 1st edition was made in England (both, cover and LP) but with the GERMAN order-number.
That's what I wrote about it on my web-site:
Because of problems in the German record-plant Nortorf English DECCA
was assigned to produce 2,000 records and covers for the German market.
Both, the cover and the labels come with the German order-number and
with the GEMA-imprint on the labels. This 2,000 copies were sold 2 weeks
prior to the very first original German release. see here: [www.vinylstones.org]

Question-anyone know about a small letter "d" instead of a capitalized one on UK demostration or test pressing 45s? Is this legit? I've seen this on a Get off My Cloud/I'm Free single.
