By my reckoning, that takes the number of different songs performed by the E Street Band in the 85 tour shows this year to around 200. Around a third of them unreleased cover versions. Only two songs ('Born to Run' and 'American Land') were played at every show.
Absolutely incredible to be able to do that whilst at the same time perform to a consistently high level night after night. An amazing finale for any band, let alone one playing high octane rock n roll for three and a half hours and where most of them are in their 60's.
They'll be back.

Best F'ing tour(s) ever. Unfortunately, the Stones can't hold a candle to a Tour of this caliber.

Their would'nt be 33 pages if real Rolling Stones fans didn't give a crap. In fact their have been more posts on this thread than you have made in 5 years. So what would you know about real Rolling Stones fans.Quote

yep..what else are they gonna do? Why quit now?
Anyway - here's a list of songs played by the band during the 85 tour concerts. A total of 194, plus seven more unreleased cover versions played at RnRHall of Fame gig in October - a total of 201.
Each song is listed by the album it was originally released on, followed by the number of tour shows where it was played.

A few bars of about 6 other songs were played as intros or outros of some of the above, but I didnt count them, nor did I count any of the local folk songs that Nils Lofgren played on accordion at the start of several European dates. Bruce's guest appearances at other artists' shows during the course of the tour also werent counted.

I liked Bruce Springsteen up to Nebraska and then stopped listening to him, the records since then are in my opinion bilge, the only exception i can think of was the song Philadelphia. The last time i saw him live was on the Born In The USA tour, the concert was unbearable bombastic drivel and i swore i would never go again.
He plays so many old covers because he wants to be seen in that canon of classic rock n roll, but in my opinion he doesnt belong there, he is standard rock/pop to me like Bryan Adams,Bon Jovi etc
Was it not Keith who once said about him, "nice guy but faking it"
Dont hate me,just an opinion

And if you'd actually heard any of the shows, you'd probably be aware that there's no 'lecturing' whatsoever. Unless you have a problem with someone occasionally asking fellow human beings to donate to a food bank.

No political lectures on the last tour and in fact, contrary to the rantings of some who would love to think otherwise, they were pretty few and far between (and generally done in a self deprecating way) on the one before it.

Not quite true with the empty-seats stats, but a good try. One or two stinkers (such as Des Moines - hardly vintage Bruce territory) but generally pretty good. On the first leg of the tour only one show (Greensboro at 89%) had less than 94% tickets sold, and almost every show sold out.
Think he did more than OK considering he's toured pretty much non stop for two years, with multiple visits to the same markets. And more importantly, the audiences went home happy. Too bad it wasnt the flop some people prayed for.
Better luck next tour!
Overall career US tour grosses (for people who are interested in these things but at least there's some Stones content in this)
#1....Rolling Stones.......$1,737,000,000
#2....U2........................1,298,643,000.....tour break (resumes June 2010)
#3....Springsteen..........1,146,718,925
#4....Celine Dion...........1,017,000,000
#5....Madonna.................990,427,000
Bruce became the second act to top the $1 billion mark, although U2 overtook him by the end of the year. No one will ever top the Stones figure, I would imagine!

Five "sellouts' out of how many shows (despite the full album gimmick)? Too many for me to bother counting.
How much of that $1 billion is he going to give to the down and out? How much for additional thoroughbred horses and vintage Corvettes?
