I think if they tried to do a small tour, with the best intentions, they would be overwhelmed by the demand to see them across the world. We're reaching that point where they've been out of view long enough that the demand is pent up. They know the audience and money for a TV special concert aren't that great. People simply want to see them in the flesh. Maybe more nights in fewer

I think it would be worth quitting if you found yourself smoking it every day, or enough for it to be a true impediment. As a weekly, or semi-weekly lark it's fine. And there are vaporizers now that make its very use comparably safer. The edible ingestion of small amounts of hashish is quite enjoyable. After many trips to Amsterdam, for the reasons described by Crumbling Mice, I would hate t

Bought a Knebworth boot a couple weeks ago. The bonus section had 'Ain't Too Proud to Beg', 'Angie', 'Silver Train', 'Dancing with Mr. D.', 'Fool To Cry', 'Crazy Mama', and 'Hey Negrita' bonus videos from Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. 'Till the Next Time' was not included. Which brings up the question, oth

Since I already have these on boots and official Sullivan releases, the interest for me will be the rest of the acts on the shows. God, I hope they have plate spinners and Senor Wences.

Heard 'Miracle Worker' for the first time last night, sandwiched on a home-made compilation between 'Dancin' With Mr. D.' from Brussells, and 'Grown Up All Wrong'. 'Miracle Worker' wasn't bad, but it was terribly underwhelming. I don't understand what A.R. Rahman, a great producer, added to this. The Reggae beat was plain and ordinary. It was

I'm certainly not a Gen-Xer and I think Cobain was part of a handful of truly talented and original rockers to come along in the later years of rock and roll. 'Come As You Are' is one of the most chilling songs rock and roll has ever produced, along with having killer guitar. His personal problems are irrelevant.

Quoteryanpow I like Miss you a lot more. but after my fifth beer I'd like to hear Hot Stuff, Ive never heard that in a bar before. I bet it would sound great. I remember hearing Hot Stuff in a disco circa 1976 on an elaborate sound system. Billy's piano sounded really good. In 1983 I heard Undercover of the Night also in a dance club with a great sound system. I thought it sounded awe

I thought it was supposed to be September but I haven't heard a chirp about it since the subject was brought up months ago. September doesn't seem doable now, with Mick busy promoting Super Heavy in the fall. It seems like the right time to release a Stones product, in time for the holidays.

QuoteDragonSky Quote24FPS There was some rust to be kicked off on the Steel Wheels tour, but they finally got it together. Expect the same, maybe more next time around. This will be their longest break in band history. Tattoo You tour, 1982, to 1989 Steel Wheels tour was their longest so far. That's seven years (plus a few months). So far it's been four years. It won't be seven y

Their best tour post Wyman was No Security, and that came on the heels of a lot of touring. If they do tour in 2012 I would expect a redux of Steel Wheels, a royal 'Look, it's the Rolling Stones!&

Quotetreaclefingers Hey Negrita Agreed. Hot Stuff sounds clunky and forced compared to the razor sharp guitars and swinging rhythm section of Hey Negrita. Hot Stuff are the Stones trying to sound relevant. Hey Negrita is classic, nasty Stones.

I don't even know the origins of the 27 Club. No one was thinking that when Jones died. But if anyone deserves to be the founding member, it's Johnson, an influence on all of them. Sure, it's a stupid club. Does Duane Allman get a special club, the 24 Club? Or, even more exclusive, the Buddy Holly 22 Club, or the Ritchie Valens 17 Club? The 27 Club is marked by people who had a lot

QuoteFreeBird Quote24FPS27 Club (FIVE members, not four, with Robert Johnson the lead off hitter) Where does this historic revisionism suddenly come from? Robert Johnson was never considered a member of the 27 Club before. Why is he now? I don't get it. Never considered a member of the 27 Club? Hell, Robert Johnson started the 27 Club.

All you Brian on slide haters can take a back seat. He was unique and nobody, n-o-b-o-d-y has his FEEL. To say his slide solos weren't out of this world is ludicrous. Who cares if they're technically perfect? He MADE 'Little Red Rooster'. No one, Clapton, no one, played it better. The man was getting signals from another realm. And his raking slide on 'I'm Movin'

I was massively disappointed in Love You Live, and that I had been duped into paying for a double album when only the El Macambo side was worth having. I haven't listened to the Paris cuts since 1977.

I think the downgrade in not including Amy in the 27 Club (FIVE members, not four, with Robert Johnson the lead off hitter) is her perceived lack of output. At this point she really had only two albums, with Frank relatively unknown to the general public. Her claim to greatness is really based on what we thought she was going to do. She owned the Summer of 2007. Have we already forgotten the grea

I loved the radio edit version of Cream's 'White Room' in the late 60s. It was a tight 3 minutes. Then I bought a Polydor label Clapton Greatest Hits in the mid-70s and was shocked at the 5 minute version there. The extra verse sounded superfluous and not the quality of the other verses, dragging down the whole enterprise. Unfortunately I have never been able to find the original,
