although they didn't write it, i've always loved "that's how strong my love is" as done by the stones. my husband hired a stones' tribute band for our 25th anniversary party, and they learned that song especially for us!

'Angel in my Heart', surely one of Mick's most beautiful compositions.

We have a family wedding coming up and the groom wants to incorporate at least one Stones song into the mix, but I am drawing an absolute blank besides "Sweet Hearts Together" which the groom claims is the worst Stones song ever written and Keith's live version of "The Nearness of You" problem with that is the bride doesn't want Keith's vocals scaring the guests smiling smiley

Any other options you can think of? Thanks in advance.

I have that exact same belief..............................

To answer your question.....I D.J.'d a family wedding anniversary party some time ago, people of all ages there, Brown sugar was the only song that everybody danced to (with the all too famous compliment of course). One Hit (to the body) is quite romantic too, I think................or the one that really says it all ..can only be.....(imo of course)......Monkey Man........hoping of course not too many other guests are tooooooooo sensitive lyricly...........maybe towards the end when everybody's too blasted to care...........

I had Wild Horses played as a surprise prelude before my bride to be walked up the aisle. It sounded really good through a big pipe organ in the church.

You can't get more romantic than " Wild Horses", in my opinion. I'd like it played at my funeral, but hey, as my Dad always said, " Weddings and funerals, they're all the same!".

Well done sir.... above and beyond the call of duty, after all,
Where else are people more in need of a smile and feeling better?

which is better than what I was/might going to say.......
(some crude, horrible thing relating funerals to weddings)

Well the only one laying down at a funeral is the guest of honor.

We had strings in the church, which I had them rehearse and break into JJF during the resessional. The strings then moved up the beach to the reception, and that particular beach has a herd of wild horses from the spanish ships crashing hundreds of years ago....the 5 piece played Wild Horses as we entered. The strings were dismissed, we moved onto the DJ, and our first dance was Sinatra's Fly Me To The Moon...with not a single break at the end of the song...the DJ waited for me to nod, and RIP THIS JOINT blared out...with the entire wedding party rocking. Brings tears to my eyes now, for its the first time I have revisited that since we got married in October of 2009. Good luck mate.

Have a look at my groomsmans cake. :-)

Angie would be appropriate, if the bride's name is Angie. If the groom's mistress is Angie, then maybe not.
