Here's where things got strange. A 4 and a half (out of 5) star review for Undercover. MTV's Kurt Loder lost his credibility on this date. By Kurt Loder December 8, 1983 By now, the Rolling Stones have assumed something of the status of the blues in popular music — a vital force beyond time and fashion. Undercover, their twenty-third album (not counting anthologies and outtakes),

Here's the Rolling Stone magazine review for Emotional Rescue. They're not too far off base here, either. By Ariel Swartley August 21, 1980 Like the thermographic photos of the Rolling Stones on the album cover, Emotional Rescue is a portfolio of burned-out cases and fire trails. High-contrast patterns of familiar outlines and blackened patches where the heat has burned and gone,

Things seem to be lining up like they always do. The individual members do their own things and keep peeking in and out of public view. Keith's book, Ronnie and Charlie's gigs, Mick's music project, will all wrap up and then they will disappear for a spell until they reappear at some new location in some new form of transportation to announce next summer's tour. I think they&#

Which of these buttons above lets you import a photo from your own collection? I've tried and tried to figure it out but no go. Is there some other way? I certainly don't seem to be able to just cut and paste my own photos in.

Quotetatters Quote24FPS I also prefer the US version of Revolver. The song lineup is the same, but pulls out I'm Only Sleeping (a b-side at best), And Your Bird Can Sing (wonderful, but a step behind the creative heights they were at), and Doctor Robert (another b-side). The removal of these songs give the US version a more coherent concept, with the strongest songs. 14 songs (UK version)

Okay, why is Keith playing bass? (And he doesn't do a bang up job). Did Bill go snog a quick groupie?

I think there are two Revolvers, just as there are two Rubber Souls. The UK and US versions are very different for Rubber Soul because the US lineup makes it an almost entirely acoustic album, except for Run For Your Life. I much prefer the US version as it comes across as an Unplugged album, very folk rock. I also prefer the US version of Revolver. The song lineup is the same, but pulls out I

Billy fit in during certain eras. His playing on Black and Blue is fantastic. Not sure how Nicky would have handled the reggae/disco era. No one boogie woogied like Stu. They really need a top flight piano player now, but there doesn't appear to be any changes musically for what's left of the Rolling Stones studio life.

I was in the courtyard of a large apartment complex in the states in 1969 when I heard over a radio in someone's window that Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones had died. It was July 4th weekend here. The radio station played 'Satisfaction' and I wasn't sure exactly what Brian Jones' contribution to the song was. I did remember his blonde bouffant and surfer cross (iron cro

QuoteEdith Grove Last time I saw Newmar, a couple of years ago, she's still a beauty in her '70s. Worked on an ultra low budget film with her in it in the late 80s. She was in her later 50s then. She had a nude scene where she walked across some grass and down into a pool. She was stunning. Long dancer legs.

Well, here it is. Judge for yourself, and notice the little dig at the tour. SOME GIRLS review By Paul Nelson August 10, 1978 Q: Do you think the music of the Rolling Stones has an overall theme? A: Yeah. Women. — Keith Richards With Bob Dylan no longer bringing it all back home, Elvis Presley dead and the Beatles already harmlessly cloned in the wax-museum nostalgia of a Broa

The album had gotten an awful review and the headline for the tour was SHATTERED, and not in a good way. Reports came back that Jagger was pissed and refusing Rolling Stone reporters access. Suddenly there was a reassessment of the album in t

Nice little time capsule. We think in terms of the 60s and 70s so much, that it's suddenly becoming clear that the 80s are a long time ago now.

Quotetatters Quote24FPS Did they ever get in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? No. Let me get this straight. Alice Cooper is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Grateful Dead are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. ABBA is in the R&RHOF. The Bee Gees, Blondie, Neil Diamond, Genesis, The Hollies, Wanda Jackson, Dr. John, Brenda Lee, Madonna, R.E.M., and Run DMC are in the Rock and Roll Ha

Top flight outfit. Did they ever get in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Because if they didn't, there's some polished turds in there that are way below their level.

This from Reeling In The Years Productions: "We're on a roll, folks! Coming October 24, 2011 from RITY and Eagle Rock. Over an hour and half of Ray Charles with the legendary small group and the original Raeletts! Breathtaking stuff. Ray's biographer David Ritz says "What a discovery! Seeing Ray at his prime in 1961, live with his brilliant small band, is a gift from the gods.

I think if they tried to do a small tour, with the best intentions, they would be overwhelmed by the demand to see them across the world. We're reaching that point where they've been out of view long enough that the demand is pent up. They know the audience and money for a TV special concert aren't that great. People simply want to see them in the flesh. Maybe more nights in fewer
