Quotemisterfrias An aside -- I wish SWINGIN' PIG would release an ALTERNATE GOATS HEAD SOUP. I really think that album has been (unfairly) maligned over the years. The "Swingin' Pig" are releasing an alternate Goat's Head Soup as we speak.

To add even more mystery I just noticed that the 2 different She Was Hot you posted are not only from 2 different sourced but they are also different mixes. The "cleaner" version you posted has more echo in Jagger's voice, just like the album version. But the other one has no echo, It's very noticeable in the line "Honey, where were you?".

She Was Hot is the same source as before, a bit of volume overload going on there. Thanks for posting it anyway. It would be great to hear it in same quality as Undercover Of The Night. Agree about the Undercover radio version, the intro is a real killer!

Yeah, for sure. The actual track was supposed to be about 25 min. long according to timeisonourside.com. I bet Charlie must have gotten a good night sleep after that one.

Many thanks for the article Rockman, always loved the song but never thought of it that way.

Yeah it's one of those stones songs you wouldn't play for your friends. I would describe Mick's vocals more like shouting rather than barking on that number. Yes it's a mess.. but it's a beautiful mess and I like it. The guitars and Charlies drums are awesome...

I have two UK copies of "I Don't Know Why" singles. Both labels look the same, blue and boxed. One says Jagger, Richards, Taylor and the other one Wonder etc... Great song by the way!

Yep Marhsall, it seems we're on the same page. Tried To Talk Her Into It is among my favorites but the main reason it didn't make the Undercover album is because the lyrics aren't exactly finished.

Yeah, I agree. Leave Hillside Blues alone! Or release it a it is. I like the bootleg version of I'm Going Down way better too, with the false start present and everything.

I'm not so sure about this. His voice wasn't in a good shape last time I heard him sing. He could hardly pull off Ooh La La few years ago. I hope I'm wrong though.

It's one of the most common stones outtakes, and IMO one of Keiths most moving studio performance.

Great album. I think Sweet Thing and Hang on To Me Tonight are the stand out tracks. And of course Evening Gown.

Yeah, "Jamming With Stu" sounds a lot better. It's kinda surprising since OBR usually has the low-est generation tapes. That won't stop me from buying it though.

QuoteStonesTod supposably he cut a few more new vocals from that era of songs for the ne'er-to-be released rumor or album, called Memory Hotel...songs like Fiji Jim, for instance.... I've often wondered if the Fiji Jim rumor is true. How did that rumor start? Any reliable sources? Did someone mention it in an interview or something? How great would it be to hear that one re-done

Quoteskipstone Of course, the remix of Winning Ugly is just as bad as any techno "remix". No way! Both the Winning Ugly remixes are awesome.

Quoterootsman Quote71Tele Just listened to alternate Brown Sugar (courtesy of Deltics). Same version as GS movie hotel room scene, but whole track. Fascinating. The slightly out of tune country licks that were not used on the official release sound like Keith. They're too simple to be MT. Yes, it must be Keith trying some overdubs. Luckily this was not used on the finished version... Is i

Quoteschillid Mother's Little Helper (BTW... Beatles' Blackbird does have a short instrumental intro.) Mother's Little Helper actually had an instrumental intro before it was edited. There's an unedited instrumental outtake version of it circulating. It's really a interesting listen, it starts out almost exactly like Sittin' On A Fence.
