Rockman, Thanks for the reply. I recall hearing about an aborted movie project, but this is the first time anybody's ever actually mentioned it to me by name.

I have a few of the shows that have been mentioned, but I don't know if I have the best version of them on cd. For example, I have Dripping Honey (Charlotte/Knoxville shows). Is this the best version of these 2 shows? What are the best versions of: Washington DC Norfolk Pittsburgh Please weigh in with your opinions.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I think that if they anticipated needing fewer dates AND shorter concerts, than that would mean that they don't expect Keith to be fully recovered before the start of the tour, or at any point during the tour. If that really was the case, I think they would probably have postponed the entire tour until next year.

Rockman, Thanks for the reply. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this company in the future. I've never seen any of the LA'75 dvds, so I'll be very curious to see what everyone thinks of this one compared to the others.

Rockman, I just bought that version of handsome girls today, and I've just started listening to it now. How would you say it compares to other versions of Handsome Girls/Gorgeous Girls, etc? Also, I've never heard of Devil Productions before, is this the same company as "Dandelion"? On my copy in the store there was a sheet on the jewel case that had the word "Dande

I've always had the feeling that because the Stones have so many greatest hits albums, the casual Stones fan has no idea which songs are on which studio album. Because of this, I think that the casual fan that likes "Gimme Shelter" and "You Can't Always Get What you Want" has no idea that they are on the same album. Not to mention the fact that that album's t

I agree that both are very good shows, but Seinfeld was the first American sitcom that was geared toward young males, which networks never even tried to appeal to during the "primetime" timeslots because advertisers didn't think that they could market to them. It's also one of the first American sitcoms in a long time that didn't care if the whole family liked it or no

Gazza, I'm upping the ante. I heard Microsoft paid $13 million. I know that Bill Gates really wanted REM's "It's the End of the World as we Know It", but they turned him down. I believe it was on this site that I read that he asked Mick to name a price, and Mick said $13 million, thinking he would never actually accept it. At that time, it set the record for the

Maybe somebody here could help me out with a question I've had for a while now. Sometimes in second-hand cd shops, there are cd's released by Virgin Records that are in oversized jewel cases. Are these remasters? Is the sound any better, or are they the same as the regular Virgin releases?

A few people here have mentioned "selling" songs to companies for advertising. I'm pretty sure that companies don't "buy" the songs that they use, they merely license them for use in advertising.

I think what LeedsLungs71 said may prove to be very important: "I would love to see Bill Wyman one last time with Charlie, Mick and Keith. And yes, I would pay dearly to see Mick Taylor too." People always complain about ticket prices, and we all wonder how soon the next tour will be, because at these prices you can't tour too often, but I think if Bill came back, it might

One of the L.A. Forum shows from 1975 is on there in 3 parts. The quality doesn't look that great, but then again, I've never seen any of the LA '75 DVDs. Does anybody know if the one on youtube is one of the better versions (joint trip, ganja), or one of the crappier dvdr versions?

I agree with a lot of what was posted earlier, and I am kind of surprised that stickydion is the only one who mentioned downloads so far. This is the first studio album to be released since music downloading became big, and since so much of the downloading is illegal, we don't really know how many people have acquired the album in the traditional way of buying albums, or illegally over th

It would be great to get some of these old shows released, but with their history of overdubbing live albums, I really suspect that they would probably not release any of their live materials without overdubbing them, and it would probably only take away from the whole experience.

Of course I agree that it would be nice if they would open the vaults, but I doubt that would happen until sometime after they have decided to stop touring and writing new material together. Look at Led Zeppelin. They didn't even release "How the West Was Won" until over 20 years after they had been finished. In that sense, I hope they don't take a page from Led Zeppelin. I
