26/7/72 ** REALLY THE BEST 1972 SHOW?
Date: July 26, 2006 21:28

What d'ya'll think of this show? Was anybody there? The audience portion (BS - TD) is brilliant, and captures the excitement of the crowd and excellent sound system. The soundboard sounds like fog central and it's dull and lacking in energy, esp. Midnight Rambler.

"The wonder of Jimi Hendrix was that he could stand up at all he was so pumped full of drugs." Patsy, Patsy Stone

I have a near perfect unmixed board (From the old TMOQ red vinyl Lp)....sounds GREAT to me! Wide stereo mix, with Keith on one side, and MT on the other. Its one of my favorite recordings...

My favorite versions of LIV, BBJ & ADTL. I think it's the best overall show.

You seem to be working your way through the tours. If so, did you like '72 better than '70?

1970 was the best Stones tour, if you ask me.

stone-relics:

Do you know if there is a cd version of the album that you mentioned?

What's the name of your vinyl version?

Yes, Swinging Pig has one, but its horribly no noised to death. It also exists in much better quality on the 1972 Tour Box. Thats probably the best one. There is a red vinyl one on ebay...I put the link in the Hot Stuff area.

Best,

JR
