By virgin, i mean no Stones show in 40 years.
Alaska for sure, probably Montana and Idaho and then?
What about the Dakotas?

It looks like they played Kemper Arena, which I think is in Kansas City, MO. So technically they didn't play in the state of Kansas in 1981.

They played one of the Dakota's (South or North) on the No Security tour. They had a little clip on the news about Mick and kids going bowling one night while in town. The owner had Mick Autograph his rented bowling shoes and talked about his game, what he ate and drank...have it on Video somewhere off of ABC or something - They had Black and White stills of Mick off the security cameras...a bit of a strangs story....Midnight Rambler goes bowling and eats hot dogs with the kids...

they played Fargo, SD on the No Security tour

aside from the ones mentioned above, I dont ever recall a show in West Virginia

Might be wrong, but I cant remember them ever having played Mississippi either

they HAVE played Utah however - the most recent being Salt Lake City in 1999

That is increasingly not the case anymore, however, as KC-Kansas is becoming bigger by the day (and richer, too). The biggest venues are Kemper Arena and Arrowhead Stadium in MO (Kemper is literally one block east of the border). However, many bands like Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews play outdoor concerts in Sandstone Amphitheater, which is actually on the Kansas side. Not sure that anyone cares; just a bit of trivia from a former Kansas resident.

They never played Rhode Island either.

As far as I know the only New England States they have played are Mass. and Ct.

As for West Virginia, they never played their either. I think it's due to the fact they figure West Virginian's can make the trip to Columbus, Oh.

Would love to hear them sing the lyric "Lookin down a 44 in West Virginia" at WVU.

they played Providence, RI in November 1964 and again in November 1965

They're about due for a return to Rhode Island if you ask me.The 3,000 seat Providence Performing Arts Center would be a good idea for the fall.
They should also play Hold Back if they ever go to Delaware.
I wonder what the chances are of either of those two things happening.

Gazza:

"...they played Fargo, SD on the No Security tour"

Fargo is actually in North Dakota.

By the way, what is the "infamous Salt Lake incident"?

They ever played Oregon?

I can't say for sure but I would think Portland would be a must stop on the latter tours (1989 forwaerd) Home page has a list on the right side I THINK, not 100% sure....

apologies about the dakotas!

The only one I've been to is the one in New York!

yes theyve played Portland, Oregon - as recently as 1st November last year

The "Salt lake incident" was an in-joke over on Rocks Off referring to the trainwreck rendition of "Rain fall down" that was performed there and screened on the "american music awards" show a few months ago. Possibly the band's worst ever TV performance (although a song they usually do quite well)

Here's a question: Which state has had the most Stones shows ever?

I would guess it to be California, there's lots of big cities here.
Second guess would be New York.

Anybody know?
