I think Ignatowski from the sitcom Taxi resembles Keith quite a bit,
physically as well as all the mannerisms.

Both shows went on for a long time. IMO they have both ranged from mediocre to brilliant.

Friends is a decent show to watch, pretty funnt at times. Seinfeld, especially the last couple of years are a true masterpeice in tv comedies!!!!
Absolutely brilliant if you'r ask me. But, it's all a matter taste...

You can like Friends AND Seinfeld. It's not one or the other.
I adore both.
Seinfeld is a bit more clever though, but don't prefer it above Friends.

I recently discoverd the sitcom 'Two and a half man' with Charlie Sheen. Not yet a classic, but pretty funny IMHO.

Seinfeld is the most brilliant sitcom ever.

In terms of predictability Seinfeld beats friends by a mile for not being predictable. Friends is far less intelligent.

Although I agree you can love both, I don't. It's not because I hate Friends but because Seinfeld is unbeatable.

Have you ever noticed it's the only comedy that does not have any romantic or emotional interludes? Not the sentimental mumbling that even Frasier is subject to? Moreover it is not all about developing romances between the main characters like so many American sitcoms? Seinfeld makes fun of all of that. If it's about romance it's about dating types of people. Nervous girls, dominant males, virgins, complete lunatics... Gotta love that impersonal surrealism.

Seinfeld - better writing, acting, etc.

Friends - 2 more hot babes than Seinfeld

Friends wins!

I really like "That 70's Show" too. Reminds me of myself and some friends back in the day (We didn't have Jackie hanging out with us though).

I agree that both are very good shows, but Seinfeld was the first American sitcom that was geared toward young males, which networks never even tried to appeal to during the "primetime" timeslots because advertisers didn't think that they could market to them.

It's also one of the first American sitcoms in a long time that didn't care if the whole family liked it or not, and proved that you could still have a successful show even if you didn't appeal to the kids.

It's also the earliest example of a show that was unique because it was being run by people with little or no experience making tv shows, which has since been copied by The Office, as well as several HBO shows (Sopranos comes to mind).

Also, Friends first gained recognition by being shown on Thursday night on the same network as Seinfeld, so that many people who tuned in for Seinfeld would hopefully also see Friends and wind up watching both.

Again, they're both great shows, but Seinfeld changed the approach to making successful sitcoms at a time when people thought the sitcom genre might die out, and Friends benefited greatly from that. Friends probably wouldn't even exist without Seinfeld having come along first.

Yeah right, and Ronnie is a better guitar player than...winking smiley

Friends are OK, but just look at the characters comparison:
Seinfeld >>>>>> Chandler
George >>>>>>> Ross
Kramer >>>>>>> Joey
Elaine >>>>>>> All of the Friends girls, I don't even remember their names, and they're not really that hot
Newman >>>>>>> That humorless blonde bartender fag
Not to mention all the hilarious episode roles like Uncle Leo, Crazy Joe Devola, Soup Nazi, "The Guy Who Talks Too Close", Jerry's and George's parents... No contest there.

BTW, I'm just in the middle of watching the "Master Of Your Domain" episode.

I have seen the 'likeness' between Keith and Kramer too.
Isn't it funny their both last names are Richards....

But it's not in a negative way.

Keith be well! We want you on stage in Gothenburg!!!

Kramer is great. But not a great actor in other roles....as far as remember.
Seinfeld rules.
[www.nbc.com] The Office is great - the BBC original even better ( I´m told )
Laurel and Hardy were more fun than Mr. Cohl is these days.
And they really weren't that funny.
Just Waiting on a Tour.

The original office is best comedy of the last 5 years. It's not really comedy, it's just painful to watch... but in a brilliant way that is.
