QuoteWeLoveYou Does anyone know what this instrument is that you can hear as at the very end of the song, making long mournful sounds? Probably a keyboard of some sort. I assumed they were saxes, just as in the chorus I mentioned. Had not heard them that early in the song before, but with headphones they sure sound like flute or some kind of keyboard with flute sound. Soft soprano or alt sax?

Did a little re-listen to the UMG remaster and must say - WOW - with attention to details on this track it really gives back in amounts! The exquisite basslines - Paul McCartney would have been proud. The really soft saxes during the second chorus (1.58 ->) that´s mixed so low they sounds like flutes. They re-occur around 04.30. That´s some nice arranging! BTW, by doing the sacrilegi

Great track, great vocals, might be a little too long, yeah, but the atmosphere´s marvelous. Question though: How long did the selfimposed exile after moving to France really last? For some reason I always assumed RS recorded in Jamaica, Rotterdam, Paris +++ for the same "tax-exiled" purpose as on EOMS. However, according to the info above, during the GHS sessions they were back in L

+ 1 on Mathijs and nakerphelege´s tips. Weber speakers are top. Personally I have and would buy vintage Fenders if I was you (if you have the funding), perhaps they´re not better than the new, say the Princeton 65 RI, but having the real thing (+ a stompbox) is pure heaven. Speaking of vintage Ampegs, which one are you thinking about buying Cafaro? Are we talking about the 300W amps And

QuoteFreeBird I can hear what I believe to be a piano on this track. It is most audible from 2:04 to 2:42. Does anyone agree with me on this? And if so, who do you think is playing it? It sounds like Stu to me, but I'm no expert - on the contrary, even. Piano indeed during the last chorus before the impro part ...

Quotedancingmisterd QuoteCousinC I mailed about it before. But I don't think it is that good! Quite interesting especially for 69 lovers but not an important Stones book. And I expected more from him. You liked it -- Ha ha - you were cross-treaded there CousinC! The new vicious threat lurking about in the dark corners of IORR I bought the book recently because of the previous

Quotetatters I think Stray Cat Blues was the track he specifically mentioned, but the ear-piercing solo in SFTD sounds like something right out of White Light/White Heat, and it don't get any LESS psychedelic than that! Yep, the intro of Stray Cat is very influenced by Velvet Underground´s "Heroin". Great thread by the way. Totally subscribe to the many valid quotes about the

I actually got the photos of the Tarle print superfast... Keith on top of the stairs of Nellcote. Framed. Nothing to complain about the communication either. Just saying.

Quotestill ill I do like the way that old Mick and Charlie at Olympic turn in the next shot to young Mick and Charlie and from then on your in 1971/72,it helps to create the right atmosphere for the film Yeah, that cut was NICE! I actually made a sound so strange upon seeing that sublime transition for the first time my girlfriend came running... hehe. I also enjoyed the studio visits a lot

Quotesusannewortmann Beautifull Islamic Art It's by Samir Malik it's Arabian and says Hadj/haqq truth, it's my next project when I can effort it! (again a reprint before I get busted by the people collecting Stones vinyl etc. at humangous prices ) Both very nice (the "modern" and this). Reminds me a bit about the sublime work of Shiri Nessat (wrong spelling).

If you search the forum there are several threads about the doc. I might be the reason for the lukewarm response to your question. But by all means, feel free to ask Personally I liked the doc for what it is - a promo item. You get lulled into the feeling of being there even if the material is faked and edited to give the impression its from Nellcote. But then again, most of what you see on TV

Thanks! Great read. Made me go back to the Black and Blue Sessions bootleg and rediscover Wayne. As noted elsewhere, very similar to Taylors playing. Great tone and vibrato.

I´m always surprised Bill has never continued the Stoned Alone story. Don´t have it here, didn´t it end in 69 or so? Has he ever said he´s gonna "finish" it? I like Rolling With a lot. Bill seems like a reliable source out of many flaky ones.

Never thought Steel Wheels or Flashpoint were poor images in themselves. Both were striking and iconic. However, were they good Stones covers? Flashpoint could be something Don Draper came up with for a oil company in the 60s (still good though) and Steels Wheels a Warhol-ish silkprint for a minimalistic Scandinavian home. If we´re talking less impressive covers however, I´d might vote for VL

FLAC is the fileformat - Free Lossless Audio Codec. Several bootlegs are available in mp3 which is a lossy fileformat - its been compressed. FLAC ensures you get a better filequality, and for instance in the Hotstuff forum you can choose which format you want to download the bootleg/music in. If you are gonna listen to it on a portable device, eg Ipod, you must convert it to mp3 anyhow, so that m

Whats the story about the Stones turning down doing the "Goldeneye" theme? Did they get officially asked or is this just a rumor? Why did they turn it down? On the Voodoo Stew/Brew linear notes one of the tracks are mentioned as a "good track" for the occasion although this certainly is just the "authors" opinion. Anyone?
