Thanks for all the advice... I remember the PR push for the GYYYO and I believe it worked as that was well done. Can't hurt to push for the 50th of Let it Bleed or 50th of Altamont to get some things they can release out of the vault. I will definitely edit- it's too long, but the intent will be to hopefully get them to hear from me and from many on this board to release as much as p

Quotedrbryant My version: Dear Jody: Last week, I bought the Satanic Majesties box set in Amazon’s “Cyber Monday” sale for £25. The reason it wasn’t selling (as the Beggars Banquet set is probably not selling) well and had to be moved at a deep discount is that it doesn’t have anything new. If you want to sell more copies of the Let it Bleed box (or any other reissue product), stop repack

QuoteLynd8 I love it - I wonder if it might be a good idea to have this as some type of online petition too! It could be a great idea. Can you start one up?

Thanks for the tip Pale Rider I will go back and edit- I am a bit wordy. The point is they haven’t been doing a good enough job if fans are screaming for more. I don’t hear anyone screaming for more from The Beatles 50th releases. I’m sure Paul and Ringo, with Let it Be, will finally release the film with the best outtakes of tracks.

Thanks Luca- that makes sense. I wonder if there is an end date on releasing archived items? I mean they released the missing 5 tracks on Ya Yas didn’t they? They also had to give permission to release Loving Cup on Exile 40th, and they still had rights to some things on Sticky Fingers so there has been some things released. Maybe it’s only with studio recordings- if that’s the case, they should

Thanks to the flu keeping me in bed the last two days, I have crafted a letter in support of the 50th Anniversary of Let it Bleed next year. Please add any comments before I send. Mr. Jody Klein ABKCO Records 85 5th Ave 11th Floor New York, NY 10003 Dear Mr. Klein, After the remastering of The Rolling Stones catalogue in SACD released in 2002, I sent you and your father, the late gr

Thanks for the feedback. Hoping others might chime in with some things I may have missed that deserve an official release. Is there a new address for ABKCO? I can look it up. I will redo and send with new things mentioned here and the from the vaults. When I do, I’ll post here in case anyone wants to also send something requesting these be released. Strength in numbers, right?

I didn’t... but I will for the next one. I’m following the “from the vaults” post and will still ask the consideration of more releases.

Found this letter I wrote on an old computer and thought I would share. I am about to prepare another letter to reiterate some of the things in here that could still be done with the Stones 63-71 era of ABKCO ownership. So, if you are bored- read it and tell me what I should write to them. They never acknowledged my letter AND I never thanked them for doing some of the things that were suggested

Last post is spot on. If it had been a single album those 9-10 tracks would have ranked as his best. I personally think Captain Fantastic was his best and his last great effort.

I agree with Dandelion. Love the album and love the variations of the live songs but the studio cuts of JJF, SFM and HTW are better than live versions. Might throw Live With Me on there as well; however, the livecuts of MR, Love in Vain, Chuck Berry cuts and Stray Cat Blues are all superior than the studio cuts. One might ask- what about SFTD? To me this live cut is a different song altogether th

What was the date of San Diego- was it like 3/15 or 3/17? If so I'm pretty sure it was released when they were putting out 75 soundboards every few months.

I'll add about Charlie's drumming on this tour as well. I really liked his change of kick drum on Start Me Up. Rather than a single kick (4/4 with kick on 2 & 4)he did a double kick on the pause of the guitar riff. I may not be using the technical drum terms so forgive me- just listen to it compared to the studio and you will see.

Rewind 1971-1984 was my first Stones album. It had Fool To Cry on it, so naturally it grew on me because it was stuck in between great songs Beast of Burden and Waiting on a Friend. I thought it was the Stones trying to do Barry White.

Maybe you sound and equipment experts can help me with a question. When Jimmy Fallon dies skits with singing with his guests, they always get these fancy microphones out and seem to always sound awesome. Also, on the Voice one of my former students made it to the duet round and hearing him on TV versus live at our school was different. Just wondering if that may be what goes on to make sure peopl

You can spend hours upon hours finding YouTube videos connecting music in the last 50 years with the occult and now the illuminati. Like the whole "Billy Shears" is William Campbell who replaced Paul and is Aleister Crowley's love child. Lol- It's interesting if there is absolutely nothing better in life to do at the time

When I say top 20 (with addition of We Love You and Dandelion), I mean like #20. Sgt Pepper overrated? Please....need to listen to it all the way through a couple of times with the remastered release to understand how great an LP was. While I can agree that the other releases mentioned (Hendrix, Doors, etc) deserve to be on there and higher on the list than TSMR- I still find that I listen to

The fact that Sgt Pepper was #2 on the list means it's not a very accurate list.w While I love the Stones, I agree that neither 67 Stones release should go higher than many on the list but I would say that if We Love You /Dandelion was on TSMR then it would have to be in the top 20.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteHMS Heathen was Bowie´s last very good album (in fact almost any Bowie-album is very good), Reality was boring and weak, a huge letdown. Then there was nothing for a decade. The Next Day turned out to be his weakest album so far, including the truckload of bonus-tracks for the deluxe-edition you may find a handful of songs that are worth listening. Most of it is crap and

QuoteGasLightStreet Bowie wasn't coasting on his last two LPs. It wasn't 'release anything'. He was doing new music and it was awesome. Unlike Mick turning to Matt Clifford and saying "Well, that'll do", Bowie actually put effort into his albums. Is it good compared to (enter whatever Bowie classic here)? That's subjective and loaded. If it was crap he

Rolling Freak- you are more than likely correct. Bowie was a chameleon rock star and morphed with the times to produce 3 year stints doing a variety of styles within the rock genre. I have great respect for him- jamming to The Width of a Circle right now. I just wasn't impressed with much of Bowie stuff outside of his live shows over the last 30 years. Critics love his stuff- you are right D
