I picked up my copy of Tesla's Reel-2-Reel CD and they did some excellent, I mean excellent versions of some cover tunes Just some observations with the 2 Stones covers first: Street Fighting Man- They did something very neat with this track. They played the true studio part of Street Fighting Man, but on the end of the last chord in each bar, they played the Jumping Jack Flash riff.

|37167 Go to the Stay With Me/Gasoline Alley medley, 6:02-6:32. Also, I just made the connection at the intro of the Black Crowes "Kicking My Heart Around" as paying homage to the slide licks of Ry Cooder from Memo From Turner.

Quote "One of the songs of By Your Side (Black Crowes) borrows some guitar from Memo From Turner. It may be the title track." from Josh Actually the title track is By Your Side. The track you are thinking of is the intro to Kicking My Heart Around and I never thought about it until you said something. It is good to learn something new!

Jealous Again is great, but Sister Luck is even more Stonesy (Sway) than Hotel Illness or Jealous Again. I wish the Stones could make an album like Shake Your Money Maker. By Your Side is also another killer Crowes song that sounds Stonesy. I want to say there is a Cinderella and a Tesla song that come to mind

With all of the intelligent IORR's and the equipment out there, has anyone been able to edit out the garbage and just have the Stones scenes together? You can't use the skip button, because some of the Stones scenes are interwoven with the garbage.

The true story has been told millions of times. Mick Taylor plays the riff and the entire rhthym part of the song. He was having a difficult time coming up with a solo and Keith sobered up enough to come in and nailed it on teh first time. This is Keith's best lead playing, outside of the SFTD in studio and the beginning of the guitar solo's live in 69-70. Of course Taylor takes

Doubtful that Mick and John's playfulness has anything to do with the decision to not release. JJF was alright, No Expectations and Parachute Women were excellent. YCAGWYW was not bad for a debut. Sympathy was probably the reason they didn't want it released. It was awful and Mick trying to be some demon on stage was ridiculous. They did believe their performance was sub par and tha

This post is in reference to the many songs that don't even have the signature start like Ronnie on acoustic for IORR, or the fact that Keith has never opened JJF with the original beginning, which makes me think- he didn't play it in the studio.

And don't say the 2 songs they overdubbed on Got Live If You Want It. Those aren't really live.

Is there a song by the Stones that they do exactly like the studio recording? I think somewhat they do with If You Can't Rock Me. Any others? I mean the solo, the rhythm, everything even the time of the song....

I'm sure he could duplicate the beginning of JJF. I don't understand why he never has since the studio version. Even on R & R Circus. I've listened to every tour waiting to hear the sweet sounds of the intro to always be disappointed. Other arrangements... why not have Ronnie open IORR with an acoustic and Keith come in later? I do like that they do not duplicate note fo

It's 100 % Keith playing the solo on the studio track. Now, everyone knows that Keith can copy other players, so it is entirely possible that he didn't write the solo, but instead played one that is similar. I remember hearing a rumor that Dave Mason from Traffic was hanging around during this time and the chord structure of Sympathy is very similar to Dr. Mr. Fantasy, The solo sound

The lead part really doesn't sound like either Parsons or Taylor. It definitely doesn't sound like Keef on lead or rhythm. It actually sounds like Jagger on rhythm because it has that sloppy feeling like on Highway Child (bootleg) Not sure who the duo is. Are you sure it surfaced on Ultra Rare Trax Vol 2? Maybe it could be Parsons and Keef. I've never heard Parsons play s
