Top 25 Best-Selling Records on Discogs in October 2023 The best-selling records of October 2023 include multiple pressings of The Rolling Stones’ latest release, modern pop albums, and a few selections that pair well with the Halloween season. The Rolling Stones recently released Hackney Diamonds, their 24th British and 26th American studio album. The new record has been topping the charts

Quoteangee Quotewhitem8 Yes, I have listened to the entire album. Those songs, as most of the songs, deal with women, and the same well Mick seems to dip back into over and over again... not any deep reflection on society, aging, life in general. When he was younger it worked, now it just seems tired and overplayed. Not much to relate to. I think Mick's life, outside of music, has been mu

The Quietus review is on the level of acrimony of the Pitchfork one, but the question of brickwalled loudness of sound is real. I was listening last night to Talk is cheap. Not talking about the quality of songwriting here, or even performance, but the pleasure to the ears is an almost forgotten one, I am afraid. and I am sorry Mick, Keith or anyone in the stones camp seem to not take careof /

Quotepowerage78 I can't wait to read about all HD's - now non-existent - weaknesses when the next album comes out, as this will justify why the new album is better. As with ABB, which was yet the album of the century at the time. yeah and agree also! but, dare I say Powerage78 that your concept is cristal clear and released in infinite editions throughout here?

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Here’s the Album Talk we all need! A few familiar - and knowledgeable - faces discussing it track by track. The superb IORR band leader, Bård Anderson and the delightful Gazza / Gary are front and centre! Enjoy. Thanks for sharing this SomeTorontoGirl, the only talk show I needed, very insightful and it made the trick: went back to HD after a while it has rested besi

of course, to each one its course and the span of the Stones carreer has made their output so eclectic than anyone can make "one's own stones", lists of songs and album et cetera. been a fan for over forty years and now that I'am 53 I have to admit that it is more likely for me to be in the mood for rootsy stuff like Crosseyed Heart than the energetic "I am still takin

QuoteStonedRambler What's far more difficult IMHO is the question "Bridges to Babylon vs Hackney Diamonds". I'd go for Hackney here at the moment, but surely some time needs to pass before you definitely can say how they compare There's at least one point in favour of B2B: Keith's tunes on that versus Tell me straight. The latter is a sweet little song but nothi

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Many always point to Crosseyed Heart sounding like a collection of unfinished songs, but other than the opening track I never understood that consensus. However, Tell Me Straight sounds to me as if it is indeed unfinished. Between the shortness and the lack of lyrics, I just think it could have been done better. But I do like what there is to it! Just wish it was flushed

Quotejumpingjackflash5 Mess it up is a very good dancing song, as I wrote only a bit in the middle is strange but overall I don't get why here gets often "KO" hey jumpinjackflash5, just a matter of taste and feel. to me to be a very good dancing song from the stones means miss you, too much blood, dance pt 1, hot stuff, honky tonk women. Methinks Mess it up is not, by far, in the

QuoteMonkeyMan2000 QuoteStoneage Quotedonvis After reading the booklet in the blu ray box, it seems like Keith was the impetus for: Get Close Depending on You Driving Me Too Hard and Tell Me Straight. Mick was the impetus for the other 7 originals. Not really a solo Mick album at all. Driving Me Too Hard and Tell Me Straight are generic Keith songs. The other ones sound more Jaggerish. G

tried a lot to listen to this, to give it a chance but... no way, it's the track to skip for me. in a record filled with nice hooks and good catchy refrains, this is where they crashed below the par big time, to my earsùwent back to too much blood to feel the funky disco stones again luckily is the first on side B so it is easy to do that when I turn the record on the plate

QuoteJumpingKentFlash Fave tracks on a very strong album: Sweet Sounds Of Heaven. Tell Me Straight. Rolling Stone Blues. Whole Wide World. Angry. Every guest is on point and not overused. The sax in Get Close is reminiscent of Ernie Watts. It’s absolutely stunning to make this that late in the game. SSOH could’ve been on EOMS, not because it’s gospel/soul, but because it actually has the
