Undercover was my first "new" album too, after having consumed Still Life on the plate for a year, and though it did not immediately click on me it has grown hugely through the years and there are many tracks in there that are must have in any Stones playlist for me: Too Much Blood, Pretty Beat Up, Pain of Love, Feel on baby PS Thanks Georgelicks for the snippets I want to keep q

Surely I miss some voices, that of Hairball for sure Hairball wasn't

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotemaumau Actually I think that moment is the only one where he is (to my ears) perfectly audible. It is one of the many highlights of the song imo, love that You can hear his piano quite a lot of places in the song. The moog, however, is especially audible after the «false» ending. Oh yes of course, I was referring to the voice

Quotegotdablouse A bit of an easter egg, no ;-) Exactly, so far, one of the things I like of what I have heard of and inferred by what I read on HD is that the super-guests are not on the front but musicians in the studio. Not even SSOH you can call it a proper "duet" between Mick and Gaga, she has the spotlight in the song of course but basically she works as apecial background vocal

ABB and SW are the albums I don't go back to anymore, the only ones in the Stones catalogue. Not that there's nothing good in them (Continental Drift, Almost Hear You, Slipping, Laugh I nearly Died, It wont take long, She saw me coming) but because I like to listen whole albums. I really dont like the overall thin sound of SW and find the turds exceeding in numbers the good and

Quotenorthof49 Quoterbarnes00 Any idea who the other people in this photo are? The person on Keith's left appears to be playing a bass guitar so possibly Andrew Watt, the other two are pretty difficult to see let alone identify. Based on Lady Gaga post and guessing: Andrew Watt on the bass, Stevie Wonder and Matt Clifford buried behind the keys

On the contrary, at least in my experience. I remember 40 years ago and counting, when I fell in love with the band at first listen, endless discussions with my friends and schoolmates listening to mixtapes around the boombox with everyone preaching their own opinion on the latest hit, praising this trashing that, or pushing their credo about what a real cool guitar solo should sound like. Many t

QuoteDoxa Wow, what an interview! The 'kid' seemingly knows his shit! And the story about the birth of "Rollin' Stone"... Dying to hear that one. The original by Muddy truely is one of the most powerful recordings ever done, and I have never heard anyone even remotely recreating the efficiency of it. Neither singing or guitarwise. Muddy is transcendental there. But dam

Quotepaulspendel Artists in their 'late days' tend to minimalise their sound. Look at Cash, look at Solomon Burke. An intimate, warm sound with a basic band. Downplaying to get the opposite effect, if you get my drift. From the two first songs I derive they opted for a more orchestral, big sound.Nothing wrong with that. I would have preferred a smaller bang instead of a bigger bang look

Mick is the driving force, undisputed. But unfair to forget that in between Infamy and HD Keith (with the strong help and motivation of SJ) has put out a great and soulfull solo album. And, talking about Stax soul heritage in the Stones camp, while Mick's LIND is my fav on ABB, nothing compares lately with Keith's Lover's plea on CHH

Quotegotdablouse Quotejumpingjackflash5 maybe also a bit of inspiration :-) But that is not any problem. The song is very good, enjoy! Yes, that was a good song (not as "grand" admittedly) and well produced too, but of course a Mick solo project so panned and derided by many here... great catch

QuoteHardRiffin Quotemaumau I think, as for the Angry teasing bit, is kind of an excerpt of the beginning of the song (but not the intro just to feature the star guests) before the presumable build up The New Era is Mick giving directions "1, 2 , 3...", "Play me something..." ...and "Listen" on Get Close ><

QuoteMariuana That's insane if you think it's just my assumptions - go and read Jagger Remembers interview from 1995 to refresh your memory. As for Faithful's statement that it was all her, she changed this story many times. First it was she co-wrote it, then she co-wrote just lyrics, then she found Mick's handwritten lyrics for the song and completed it, then she said she w
