Quotejumpingjackflash5 Mess it up is a very good dancing song, as I wrote only a bit in the middle is strange but overall I don't get why here gets often "KO" hey jumpinjackflash5, just a matter of taste and feel. to me to be a very good dancing song from the stones means miss you, too much blood, dance pt 1, hot stuff, honky tonk women. Methinks Mess it up is not, by far, in the

QuoteMonkeyMan2000 QuoteStoneage Quotedonvis After reading the booklet in the blu ray box, it seems like Keith was the impetus for: Get Close Depending on You Driving Me Too Hard and Tell Me Straight. Mick was the impetus for the other 7 originals. Not really a solo Mick album at all. Driving Me Too Hard and Tell Me Straight are generic Keith songs. The other ones sound more Jaggerish. G

agree, I wish Keith had sung this, his awry approach would have make it stronger and deeper also would have been a killer "main offender moment" 1-2 with tell me straight back to back

tried a lot to listen to this, to give it a chance but... no way, it's the track to skip for me. in a record filled with nice hooks and good catchy refrains, this is where they crashed below the par big time, to my earsùwent back to too much blood to feel the funky disco stones again luckily is the first on side B so it is easy to do that when I turn the record on the plate

QuoteJumpingKentFlash Fave tracks on a very strong album: Sweet Sounds Of Heaven. Tell Me Straight. Rolling Stone Blues. Whole Wide World. Angry. Every guest is on point and not overused. The sax in Get Close is reminiscent of Ernie Watts. It’s absolutely stunning to make this that late in the game. SSOH could’ve been on EOMS, not because it’s gospel/soul, but because it actually has the

Quotematxil QuoteHardRiffin Quotekeefriffhards A more honest down to earth review from a guy who actually knows this band/music and their potential. "More honest down to earth"?!!!! "They have nothing of consequence to say here, even after losing the band’s anchor, nor no indelible riffs to play, even after two decades to write them. Just like the image of its title, Hackne

QuotePutty I just spend about 15 minutes reading the comments on the YouTube video of Gaga and The Stones. All incredible comments and some very personal and touchy comments of old people, some sick, finding unexpected joy with their favorite band once again. Maybe one last time. What an emotional song and performance. done the same, quite impressive

Quotepowerage78 Definitely a good album, full of energy and desire, which for me is the most important thing. Contagious enthusiasm, I'd say. We're in 2023, and we're talking about a new Stones album. It's pretty incredible all the same. How it will age and fit into the band's discography, we'll see. In a good place, I think. I agree, the apparent true commitment t

Agree, the problem with that Pitchfork review is that the tone is so aggressive that the piece ceases to be a review, points good or arguable get blurred away not very pro in my opinion when the ego takes over like that

kind of "review". as many say (from both sides here) it takes time to assess the album in the big picture of a 60 years catalogue, this is the time of first impressions, even if you spin it 100 times in a single day. love or hate. my first impressions. I enjoy spinning side A as a whole, no deep downs and a big up "Get Close". Also "Get Angry" has grown as good si

Glad to see there's a whole string section on this and they were not lazy and ask Matt to provide that part on synth. You can feel on it. The barking dog is sorely missed. that was perfect.

Quotematxil Quotemaumau ... So I understand people noticing the differences, but have they not done this regularly in their past? What did you think the first time you heard the drumming of Undercover, the sound of Heaven on Tattoo You or Hey Negrita and anyone here I'm sure can come up with other examples on the same line ... I don't think Heaven, Hey Negrita or even Undercover we

QuoteLorenzAgain It’s interesting, I have the division at home too. I love it, my girlfriend thinks it’s a bunch of Mick solo songs, overproduced and forgettable except for the blues song and Sweet Sounds That it is a bunch of Mick'solo songs/ideas of songs I think Keith himself has admitted. Exceptions: Rolling Stone Blues, Tell me straight and Driving me too hard that has been labelled a

I understand people noticing the differences soundwise. Something I like a lot - bass reverb -, something is interesting - riffs like Whole Wide World or Bite My Head Off that are different from what you expect from the "classic" more layered Stones/Keith's riffs -, something is not or I don't like - the"posh", pop or whatever you call that extra smooth variation i
