Quote1963luca0 Nowadays, his entire collection lies in a dump basement in his unsold villa and it's 12 years this year that he passed away. Nobody knows if his original poster of Altmont is still there, nobody knows if his 10" acetate of 'Come On' is well. Bye & thanks, Luca A timely reminder to us ALL that we need to make Wills and keep them up to date.

Quotenightskyman At the risk of boring everyone...but yeah I was there too. I was more intrigued by the little white building that is the actual recording studio. The lot was open and I got in for a few minutes before someone inside told me to leave. In the summer of 1983 when EMI were upgrading the studios, they ran a series of 'open days' at the Abbey Road studios. It was a prese

QuoteCome On It must almost be regarded as a criminal act to delete that video clip with The Rolling Stones from 1964. ... Is there someone we can sue? Hindsight is wonderful. In the early 1960s through to the 1970s videotaping and (importantly) video tape was EXPENSIVE. The BBC (for they are the guilty party) had a policy of wiping & reusing the expensive tapes. Folk who want to get to the RAH shows and have not got a ticket are reminded that it's a condition on the RAH that there are tickets on sale at the door ON THE DAY. They sell off returns, and then sell the couple of hundred standing places right in the very top circle. I've bought that way twice (Eric Clapton), and know someone who flew over from the USA for the Concert For George

QuoteNaturalust Optical disks seem like the best long term storage media these days but like everything in that technology field, things are changing rapidly. I'd pay someone to transfer all your music, photos and other stuff that can be digitized to a Blu-Ray type optical disk so you can have easy access for years to come. I must admit your post kind of scares me concerning the fate of the

Quotejammingedward Was a great show but very poorly attended! Had a chat to him after and he seemed like a top bloke. I envy you! I'd have gone, not that far from me, and a PERFECT band, but had to go to the Gold Coast for a family event.

Quotejlowe I can never understand how DC,according to the media has amassed such a huge fortune. DC5 were successfull for a relatively short period of time...late 60s when UK income tax was 83%. The individual Stones were broke....and owing the Inland Revenue a lot of dosh. I dont think DC went into (tax) exile. He had a West End success...what else? He escaped the clutches of Allen Klein of

Quotemnewman505 Stanley Booth will be on the US public radio show "Sound Opinions" this weekend discussing the '69 tour and Altamont. "Last month marked the 45th anniversary of the Rolling Stones' notorious gig at the Altamont Speedway. Author Stanley Booth was there to witness it, and he joins Jim and Greg for a discussion about the band and their 1969 tour."

QuoteDeltics Quotegeorgelicks That "Gimme Shelter" single reached #23 on the UK Singles chart on April 1993. I don't imagine that the cassette accounted for many of the sales! Well, I'll put my hand up as someone who bought it in all formats the day it came out. Strangely, and much to my surprise, just about all of the interpretations of the song are good, and a coup

QuoteChacal QuoteCaptainCorella Hmmm... I'm reasonably confident (but definitely not certain!) that Sherry Daly has worked with The Rolling Stones since the mid-70s at the very least. No. She was hired by Charlie in the 80s - as his secretary. Read Bill German's book 'Under their thumb', I think she's mentioned in there. She was only working for Charlie, not for the

If you knew Bobby well enough for him to do a session on your record, then you must have a contact for his "management". They will surely have a contact for Keith. Ask them?

By chance she had met Paul McCartney, her future husband of 29 years, at the Bag O'Nails pub the previous night. Linda McCartney later concluded that her cruise aboard the Sea Pant

With apologies to "Hound Dog", but this thread should really be titled... Rolling Stones at Hanging Rock. I am sure the band is aware that they have never played at this world famous venue. You think they have any desire to play there, they seem to want to play all the famous venues and cities that they have never done before, I wonder if this venue is on their list. Would be a dr

Think of the Internet as a road system that carries all sorts of vehicles - cars, taxis, buses, trucks. Those are things like email, text, files etc. The World Wide Web is equivale

I got to wondering about the DATE and location of these photo's. The original site says... Stones 1975 (oder war es 1976?) in der Berliner Deutschlandhalle Ronnie is in the photo's, so it's not the 1973 tour - where the Berlin show (I was at) was Mick Taylor's final show with The Stones (in that era). I too attended a show on this tour. Brighton Big Apple. A couple of months prior I'd queued all night on the pavement outside the record shop that was due to sell tickets. The overnighters were fine and behaved well, but there was a bit of a rush and crush when others turned in the morning to buy tickets and tried jumping the queue. No matter, I got my two tickets. (21st November 2014). There was a memorial service today in Brisbane (less than a week since the Stones played there) for the recently deceased Premier - Wayne Goss.
