Quotetatters Quotestonehearted Given that Depp is a friend of Keith's and not Mick's, Johnny likely won't succeed either. Not unless he's willing to come up with the couple of million dollars they would have to charge anyone else for a private show. He can easily afford it. I'd have thought that it was more a question of timing. If Mr Depp decides to get married abo

QuoteSKILLS Hmmm why isn't Sam on the corporate speaking circuit creaming it with an easy gig....tell a few war stories, heck we have speakers that can command between $4000 and $8000 per engagement in our small market of 4 million Seems a natural fit for a retired road dog. Heck a line up of " Sam Cutler, Richard Cole interviewed by Mick Wall" would be a good corporate nigh

Wow! The second (big) ticket drop is happening as I type this. Out of curiosity I've been "trying" to get tickets, and to log in to the Ticketek site. (I got my tickets 10 days ago). At no stage did the site seem slow (or slower than usual), and 40 minutes after the start of the Melbourne ticket drop I'm able to get groups of 4 tickets in nice places. Has the dem

Quotedrbryant Hope that all IORR'ans who don't have seats are able to get in. No pit tickets, but assuming that these are VIP packages that didn't sell, they should be very nice seats even for the price (AU$595). Really strange that they are also offering Cat 2 seats. That's great for people who don't want to pay the Cat 1 price, but I wonder where these seats came fro

Wow! I was there as well. It was one of the shows on the "Farewell" tour before they left for the South of France. Picking up some bits from the (must read) comments... The person who says she was "sitting" is wrong. It was a standing only show. The floor was indeed "bouncing" - but that is what it was supposed to do. The venue (The Big Apple) was or

At a Hanging Rock show last year there was sometimes one security guy standing around between sections (in Stones' terms, between PC1 and PC2), from time to time casually looking at tickets. ie Not very serious.

A very disappointing event. The guy was done for straight FRAUD, and he happened to use concert tickets. He could just as well have sold a dodgy car. It in no way addresses the dreadful activities of Viagogo and others.

Quotemighty stork I'm sorry, does anyone know who the gent is between Mick and John? It's Paul's brother Mike. Went by the stage name of Mike McGear for a long time so that he wasn't overtly cashing in on his more famous brother. Photo obviously taken in Paul's house. I know that because of the ALTERNATE Sgt Pepper drumskin on the wall. This is unusually intere

I'd quite like shots of the band members wandering around half way up Hanging Rock, all the while calling out..."Miranda!". But that's just a whimsy.

Quotestraycatuk The trouble is that most of the scalping is done by ticketmaster, getmein etc. Before they ever get into the hands of a traditional tout outside ths venue I'm sure it was a typo but you missed out Viagogo (excuse my bad language!)

Just heard a news item on the (Australian) ABC that the South Australian Govt has declared that the Stones' Adelaide Oval concert (and some other event) is a "Major Event" and that as a result the State's legislation on TIcket Scalping comes into play. There will be huge fines for illegal ticket sales outside the venue on the day. As soon as I can find a more complete ac

Richard Branson was just another record retailer until the extraordinary success of Tubular Bells. Arguably if Tubular Bells had not sold, then there would be no Virgin empire around the world. I bought it when it very first came out (my original vinyl label is mono printed - ie no colour printing on the lable) when it was played on the John Peel (RIP) show in the UK. Loved it. Still quit

If you want to get some idea of the Melbourne venue, then the current (mid-January 2014) Australian Open Tennis is in large part coming from The Rod Laver arena. So find it on a TV near you and watch some of it.

Two short nominations. 1) Mick & Brian introducing Howling Wolf on Shindig! Brian is as good as jumping up and down with excitement. (Factoid... Wolf's keyboard player is Billy Preston). 2) Atlantic City '89. Clapton guests on "The Red Rooster" and plays a blinder of a solo. As he walks back to join Keith & Ronnie, Mick walks past him and gives him a smile/
