abba were an incredible band, the downside is they wernt hip and trendy so people tend not to admit to liking them. the music they made was toe tapping dance music also some great ballads. they made some great singles but the hidden album tracks were great too. the arrival album was in my opinion the best they ever did.

im not sure what influence mick had on each song but from his era there was many great songs to enjoy. a great stones era, and so different from the early years and mid 60,s stones. not many bands can lose their most talented member and come back stronger, think the stones strength in the late 60,s and early 70,s was the songwriting of jagger/richards aswell as the taylor influence, the b

so which lame brains voted guns and roses ahead of the stones. thought guns and roses were ok at the time, but they are nothing special and comparing them to the stones is crazy, stones are the kings, anyone else who thinks otherwise should go and get thier heads examined.

my first gig was june 1990 at hampden in glasgow. was the first opportunity to see them, i was 21, previous to that gig i would have only been about 13 or 14 when they last played in britain prior to that tour. and i didnt discover the stones till 1987. i blame my parents, if they had been a lot quicker i might have managed a gig in the 70,s.

another underrated piece of stones work from an underrated era. this song could have been a classic as many others could have been. would have fitted in well in exile or goats head soup. just needed spruced up a bit.

i never knew what the big hype of led zepplin was. they recorded music over a 12 year period, compared to the stones 50 years. made albums that had barely 8 songs on them at most, and only done around 250 concerts, about 1 eighth of the stones.

not really surprised the band didnt diversify with the setlist but through the 5 gigs and rehearsals they did do 9 songs from the early-mid 60,s which is a period they constantly ignore and have done since 1969, from 1969-89 you would get satisfaction and something else, and since 1989 paint it black aswell but to get 9 songs was a treat. especially lady jane around and around i wann

i thought the band had finished touring in 2007, glad to be proven wrong but wondered why they left a big time gap to do it again. cant see them leave it that length of time again till they do more gigs, also hope that when either jagger, richards or watts dies the band will not continue, i would hate to see them continue with little resemblance to the original line up. other bands have done it a

stones legacy has been enhanced by their longevity, maybe if they had quit after exile people would assume they wouldnt have made any good records again, then again people would think they must have so much more to give, im glad they stuck around cos we now know what they had to give, they are one very versatile band with so many songs different from each other, so when i listen to the stones i g

i think the band should keep playing till every member is 100. theres the challenge. it could also be a challenge for their audience and fans to stay alive and see them do it.

and are the band aware of this or not. my own personal opinion is that some well known songs are overrated. honky tonk women is good but nothing more. satisfaction is good, not great. start me up is better than average. miss you is good at best. its only rock and roll is good at best. you got me rocking is below average. tumbling dice, very good, but there is better. yo

staying in the one city for a longer period of time to give the band a rest is a good idea at their age. and keeping any tour short, with plenty of time off between gigs. hope they do glasgow, if not london again.

didnt realize organizing setlists was such a big deal. i would do it for a small fee, if the band tour again, and ofcourse i would listen to the opinions of the people who mattered, the fans. get back to me mick if you think i can handle this task and we can meet up for beers in london.

there is a curfew for live events. during wimbledon andy murrays game ran over the 11pm curfew by 2 mins. it would be the final game of the match if andy could serve it out, so the organizers let the game start, but it ran over, dont know if the all england club got hit with a fine for it.

thanks stones for the memories, the songs, stories, pictures and everything else. been a fan since 1987, when i thought the band had long finished. i didnt realize they had been still making records right through the entire 70,s and 80,s and i didnt realize they would ever perform again never mind do much more world tours. got my dream when i saw them in 1990, once was more than i ever

in the 70,s the stones used to play around 16-17 songs per gig on a particular tour and with the exeption of 1 or 2 at most, the setlist was the same every night. dont agree with doing this when at the time they had a back catalogue of around 200 songs, so why stick to the same few.

cant the stones have different set lists for different gigs. rotate the warhorses, we dont need them all. and have as much variety as possible.
