in the last gig in 2007 i couldnt find the pilot inn, went back to london bridge which was 4 stops towards london from o2 and found a chinese, had a nice meal, quick service which i wouldnt have got at 02, and went into a pub across the road. then i left for the 02, a whole 45mins before the concert started, but even if i had left only 25 mins before, i would still had been in my seat with a

i think for next year the stones should release a compilation album of all their well known songs from the last 50years. just to get a new generation interested. add in 1 new song to the other 99 previously released umpteen times songs and they could charge over £200 for delux editions of these. keep doing this every 3 years till the penny finally drops with joe public.

i was in a similar situation after the last 02 gig. no hotel, so i had planned to spend a lot of time in a pub near victoria then get the 24hour service bus to stansted. unfortunately i ran out of money at the o2 and went straight to stansted early, arriving at 2am, had to spend another 6 hours at stansted and that was no fun. buses from victoria-stansted run all night so dont worry a

take the underground, get a 1 day pass for zones 1-4, around £7 or£8 and if your in london at 4pm, you have plenty of time to get a dinner/drinks at quieter places along the route. the o2 centre is right outside north greenwich underground station.

it seems obvious there is a massive scam here. and it appears quite blatant, not as if its just a resale thats been connected to a hotel room at an inflated price, which although immoral is probably legal. whats happening here is tickets are resold quickly at vastly inflated prices and ticketmaster and the companies that have bought and reselling these tickets should be investigated.

i smuggled in a cheap digital for the 2007 gig, it took photos but they wernt great, the camera obviously set itself a long exposure time due to the lowlight which affected the sharpness of the photos, a DSLR would have improved the quality of picture, but there would be no point in using flash as it wouldnt reach, so again setting a high ISO setting would probably help as you wouldnt need to set

from the 1978-83 period i would regard as filler, half of emotional rescue, all the way down and feel on baby from undercover, although many other songs are not as good as others, it is still a strong time for the band as far as recording goes.

ive always felt that stones fans and critics only judge the bands songs as how it appears on an album rather than on its own merit. if a band creates 6 classic songs and attaches it to 1 album, that would register as 1 classic album, but if all 6 classic songs are attached to 6 mediocre albums the songs tend to get lost and overlooked and i feel the stones suffer from this. some great son

ive never got the opinion from many stones fans that the band done nothing after 1972. they have released around 170 songs(not including cover versions) since 1972, although this includes official outtakes. this equates to around 17 albums or 1 every 2 years 4 months on average for the last 40 years, with many songs ranging from great to good, to not so good, there is something for every

you can get a beer and take to your seat, i was in the 2nd tier and next to the exit, which had plenty places to buy drinks etc. also took a small camera in, smuggled it in, didnt want to risk it being taken. also no point in using a flash from where i was seated, never ever understood why you got hundreds of peoples cameras flashing at the same time whenever there was a big football matc

love their 62-67 stuff. 1967 they produced more songs than any other year, and most of then good. the stones strength has always been their versatility, and this period aswell as 68-83 proves exactly how versatile this band is. 1967. cool, calm, collected citadel we love you ruby tuesday 2000 man something happened to me yesterday connection miss amanda jones she,s

voodoo lounge is ok, some good tracks, but quite a bit of filler. could maybe have done with having "like a rolling stone" in it instead of 3 or 4 others and shortening the album. brand new car the worst love is strong i go wild out of tears blinded by rainbows you got me rocking would be my choice of inclusion for the album. also a point about steel wheels,

was a bit dissapointed with black and blue when i was collecting the back catalogue of albums. maybe i was comparing it too much to other albums and so it didnt sit well with me, it was also too short. i liked crazy mama, and memory motel. hand of fate, hey negrita and hot stuff were just ok, and the rest just dross. i did like the sound production but overall it isnt a great album an

not sure what the worst stones song ever is. back to zero is probably the worst, there are others which are almost as bad. worst ever single release is saint of me, i was really dissapointed when they released this crap, i cant honestly believe people like this song, i think its wishful thinking that its not crap, its terrible. it does nothing for the stones legacy and i wished they h

this was my first stones tape, in 1987 when i discovered the band. felt some of the playing was a bit rough and it took me a while to get used to it, but over the years it has grown on me. great versions of star star jj flash sympathy for the devil took me another 5 months before i bought my 2nd tape, which was rolled gold, from then on i was hooked.

and what if brian handnt screwed up and got sacked, and he was with the band early 70,s so mick taylor never came on board, and what if brian was still there in the mid 70,s and ronnie never joined, wonder how that outcome would have been.

the who havent really been an active band since the early 70,s with the exception of a new studio album in 1981, and a couple of tours. unlike the stones who have made over 200 songs since the early 70,s.

i cant understand why folk dont like the stones post 1973. from 73 to 86 they made 8 albums, some of them very good, some less good but with fewer good songs. even since steel wheels and including they have written and released 90 songs, which in effect could have been 9 studio albums, or 1 every 2.5 years, ok so the standard isnt anything like the 60,s or 70,s but there is still enough go

i felt the marriage by bill to mandy smith was a charade to deflect from the problems he could have faced, ive always wondered if bill leaving the band was due to this. now that i have a daughter at 14, and im 5 years younger than bill was when mandy smith was 14, it does make me cringe at why someone like bill would want to be around someone like her.

not sure why michael jackson isnt high up that list as on other sites he is rated at 3rd top highest record sales ever. the stones were rated as 13th, and below celine dion, so who compiles these stats.

i went to the last gig in 2007, at the 02 centre and when i went through security and upstairs to the concourse area just outside the arena there were bars selling booze in plastic containers. i took a beer to my seat, and half way through the concert, went and got another 2, nearly tipped the lot over the people in front of me, luckily i managed to save the beers and chilled out for the rest

the o2 centre is right next to the underground station called north greenwich. there isnt really any hotels near to the o2 centre that i know of but there are plenty of cheap hotels in and around london which are within walking distance of underground stations. the underground is cheap and if your planning to spend the day in and around london wanting to see some sights etc, then a 1 day
