Quoteslew I am most defininately a fan. LA Woman is a great album and I also like the song. For me The Doors is one of the 2 o3 best debut albums in history. I also think the Sof Parade is very underated/ I think that Soft Parade is very underated too. Most because had 2 shitty songs like Do It and Runnin'Blue and a average one, Easy Ride. But the other songs, imo, are great Pa

QuoteSingle Malt I am. Especially the versions on The Doors Are Open film are absolutely fantastic. It would be great to have those Roundhouse gigs as soundboards... I wish that too... and maybe someday Granada Tv will provide us a complete footage of at least one of the Roundhouse gigs. And the European 68 tour of The Doors are great. We have the early and late Stockholm concert on sound

Quotetomcasagranda Quotesteffiestones Quotetomcasagranda No, not a good idea. Brian was only part of the Stones, recording wise, from 1963 - 1969. Mick Taylor was, recording wise, from 1969 - 1974. Much as we moan, Ronnie has been connected with the Stones from 1975 to date. Granted that Ronnie does replicate a lot of Mick Taylor's lead-work, as most Stones live has a healthy proportion o

QuoteBig Al QuoteDandelionPowderman Revolver and Aftermath? Two fantastic albums by two fantastic bands Yes, two fantastic bands, but where as Revolver contains such far-out moments as Tomorrow Never Knows, the overlong Aftermath contains pap like What To Do - a likeable enough song, but something reminiscent of a circa-1963 Lennon/McCartney effort. I adore the Stones, but the Beatles were

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo Quotebuttons67 i liked both beatles and stones, but while the beatles were catchy tunes and easy on the ear, with some wonderful songs, they lacked the energy, aggression, beat and variety that the stones had and for much longer. when i listen to the stones i can go from something beautiful like as tears go by, to citadel, to something as infectious as jigsaw puzzle to a

I think the question is not about who's better. They had different styles. Listen how The Stones transform "I wanna be your man". And the 1966/1969 period we can listen how different the two bands sound. And i like both. We have the pleasure of listen an Rubber Soul or a Aftermath, a Revolver or a Between The Buttons, a SGT Peppers or TSMR, a White Album or a Beggar's Banquet.

Good news! Hope they not did a lot of overdubs..I want to hear a clean Doors... Not the best show of them. Morrison didn't perform well(Maybe because Mick Jagger was there with Morrison's girlfriend by their side ), but it is good to know that this historical performance(more for the quality of the footage) gonna be released in blu-ray. Btw, the Hollywood Bowl release in VHS and DVD

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quote21stcenturystones yes, i meant kreiger. didn't he write "light my fire"? yes he wrote the foundation of "light my fire" but the band made it the epic jam. you can usually tell a krieger song by the structure (1st verse, chorus, 2nd verse, chorus, repeat 1st verse, chours X2) and the lyrics are usually more simple than what jim writes. song

The Doors are my favorite band! But i always think that they sound obscure... The "Jim Morrison legend", his good looking, and the Rolling Stone revival helped a lot... Nevertheless, i think that Jim Morrison was a great vocal and "persona" on stage... And he had the "balls" to sing the blues
