One of Jim Morrison's closest friends said that the most famous biography of him--"No One Here Gets Out Alive"---should have been titled, "Nothing Here But Lots of Lies." Same goes with this book.

Quoterooster the philly show at the JFK stadium( so sad its gone!..like the old Wembley in London..there was so much history in those places...is the anaheim stadium still there?) on JFK. As a sports venue, it was perhaps the USA's biggest white elephant. As a concert venue, it was literally the Saint Patrick's Cathedral of live music, the sight where massive throngs of people c

Quotestones78 Love In Vain from the old Ladies And Gentlemen was on G sharp, it was corrected for the DVD release. Yeah if I'm not mistaken, so was "All Down the Line" Also, it sounds like Garden State '78 is sped up too

QuoteBrianJones1969 Can anyone think of any Rolling Stones songs that were intended to be recorded in the key of, say, G, and then some problem with the tape machine causes the final speed of the recording to either speed up or slow down? Of course, for many years some of the songs didn't really sound right aside from the LP versions because of such speed discrepancies. Aside from the

QuoteMathijs QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I love the Australian shows. I have often thought about this: the pics from the tour all seem to be small-ish venues, small-ish crowds, daylight gigs; Smallish venues? They played the regular venues for any rock band of the day, with an average of 20.000 in attendance, just as average on the '72 tour. Mathijs +1 at the time, the US and Canada

Quotecrumbling_mice That's exactly my point sleepy, I can only recall his slide playing and even that I don't rate so highly. He was ahead of the game for a white guy but others soon caught him up and surpassed him in that area. Crumbling Mice, you're certainly entitled to your opinion (as we all are---and the MT years are my favorite as well). But remember this, Mick Taylor

QuoteSleepy City Quotestevecardi You want bad Stones live, grab the Got Live LP (although the EP of the same name was great). The mixing might be bad, but apart from the sloppy 'Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby' the performances are fabulous, full of energy & passion! Sorry Sleepy City, but I must respectfully disagree with you. That's one Stones album I just never liked fro

Quoteyorkey QuoteDGA35 No, Keith played the solo on All Over Now. You can see him playing it on the TAMI show. ... and then John Lennon mocked Keith on that solo. "Yer Blues" Kind of ironic the Dirty Mac--with Keith on bass--played that song at Rock n Roll Circus

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteslew I've been listening to LYL and I like the playing. Other than the El Mocambo side though Mick to me is at his absolute nadir. Side 4 is brutal the man is inaudible the vocal performance on Brown Sugar is putrid. I'm sorry to fans of the album but that is my opinion. I know what you mean, but there are many exceptions, too. - Fingerprint File has

Abbatoirs easily over Knebworth. These shows are probably the high-point of the tour in terms of performance and consistency. Keith playing on June 6--the night his baby died--is really intense: you can almost feel his pain coming out of his playing. The version of "Midnight Rambler" from this show is especially powerful: more than enough to satisfy those who think this song hasn't

LOL Marko, I'm often more tolerant of bad recordings than most people, but Rome 1990 is just too messed up for me. That said--based upon what I can hear--it i a good performance.
