So sad to hear... now both Brian and his mother are no longer with us... back in 2014 I had to choose between seeing the Stones (one more time) or the Pythons. I decided on the Stones - thinking they are more likely 'not to be around' for any time longer.

Much like many I was in high anticipation for this movie – pretty much anxious to see is MS will be able to re create all those ‘magical’ movie moments all his fans know from ‘Goodfellas’ and other films… you know… all those 90 seconds clips with a famous song/tune at the back ground that later make that song merged with the movie dialogue forever (like the Layla instrumental part and the famous

I usually do not get into observations about celebs and famous people based only on some reading, 2nd hand stories and maybe once or twice seeing them buying coffee in Starbucks. However in regards to Daltrey – I’ve seen him several times during sound checks, as well as heard stories from other people who followed the late TW tours + in recent years their shows in the UK and Ireland were really

QuoteHMS I wonder if Roger is wearing a wig. Pete doesnt, obviously. An extremely clever type of wig. Since 2000 his hair, and hairstyle, aged gracefully. In the 2013-2014 gigs I saw (including the one sound check I attended, seeing him from zero distance) he looked a bit like a Hobbit with a type of a Frodo haircut…

Anytime The Who were performing somewhere around and I did not attend as I felt I saw/see them way too much (Nottingham 2014, Belfast & Scotland 2013, RAH several times during the first years after 2000, US east coast in late 2000). Unlike with Stones concerts – for The Who I never felt as if “the 3td was too much”. Clapton – missed two chances to see very good concerts of him. The fact i

The worst for a performer I didn't expect much from: 2 out of 2 Depeche Mode concerts I attended. The wife is a huge fan and was pregnant during both times she had a chance seeing them + it was mid, hot, summer. I went with her (not that she asked) to make sure she is OK... Did not enjoy even one second. Felt like a calm atheist in the middle of a mass. These were FOS tickets and people all

SADDD…. Some 3-4 years ago I rushed after work during some terrible humid summer evening to see him, and JS, doing a very intimate gig in some Tel Aviv club. Close to the end I went an stood just in front of him… seemed as if he hasn’t changed a bit since the late 60s, just got old the way movie actors are “done” to look old when acting in a movie that covers a life time of the same person… same

I do not know what is says about me but the only scene I recall really breaking my heart was the (well... one of them) ending of Lord of the rings when Frudo have to sail with the last ship carrying Elvs from middle earth. I was motionless when Boromir died or when the King of Rohan did but really had a tear in my eye when the ship left

Just saw on TY “Pictures of Lily”, “Listening to you” and “behind blue eyes” – looks like a great solid show: loud guitar and great show altogether (though I do not like the drums sound of ZS in recent tours, sounding as if coming from an inside of a box’ which it is pretty much what it is…). Hard to compare to the arena shows I’ve seen in the UK at the end of 2014 (from front rows) but clearly t

Well - all that needs to been said - is already up there: The best Stones sond, in my opinion - definetly when it comes to a studio version. Never dropped out of my playlist. What was said about it in 1969: it caught the spirit of that time - sometimes I think, when witnessing events such as the Syrian civil war nowdays, that had it been written these days, it would have made a hit just to the

QuoteBluzDude ...well, if they cancel that show, I will be in London anyway. But to book a trip just for a show and have it cancelled, I understand how you must feel. Being pissed off by your band (especially with PT) is part of being a Who fan. He stated numerous times (as early as 1982) how much he disliked "this whole thing". Actually he has been doing that since the 1960's

The mentioned documentary about the Eagles included some of the most smug yet embarrassing moments if rockumetary. Say what ever you want about Jagger/Richards, or Townshent/Moon – there was always some class even at their lowest moments. Henley, and especially Glenn Frey come out as moronic and Frey just looks like some Ben Stiller movie exaggerated figure.

I guess that any lead guitatist who develop its own unique style (usually as part of a band) might be regarded as influential. Some very talented musicians did great things, but few that were new technically. I think that these "type" of discussion s always tend to forget Roby Krieger who really had its own style in the typical musical blend of the Doors music. I am no musician but oc

Quotecrawdaddy Unfortunately,as some of our favourite bands are getting even older than some of us, health becomes a big issue. Almost went for a ticket on 18th even though not back in London till late afternoon from Spain. I do feel for fans who have to travel and hotel booked etc. and hope things financially don't work out too bad. Got my tix for Hyde Park so see yer all there.

QuoteNaturalust Anyway here's a clip of Eminence Front where Pete threw his guitar wtf? What a spoiled brat he can be. The guitar sounded fine to me, c'mon Pete be a pro and work though the problems without a friggin' temper tantrum, it was probably just your damaged ears anyway. Was Roger playing guitar on that tune too? Like in the original MTV video? And Pete's a

What a show tonight at Liverpool! Had FOS location. Unlike in Newcastle people stood at the barrier. The crowd were a bit younger then those at Newcastle. Quite calm people (no one complained about those standing as unlike Newcastle many at the ground floor were sitting). Half of the crowd at the front seats were half drunk, which made them friendly, though I didn't like so much the bear

Just got back to my hotels near the Echo Arena after the sound check I witnessed as part of the "Soundcheck package" I spoiled myself with. WOW - worth any penny! Took many clips, might upload them later. The seriously (20 minutes maybe) reharsed "My Generation as the "regulars" of these soundchecks asked for it... guess it would be played. Roger laughed when

Just got back to my hotel not far from the modest Metro Arena in Newcastle. In short? go and see them. Longer? I must admit I was worried. In many YT clips Rogers voice sounded weak. Pete's palying sounded lazy. I saw them for the last time in Ireland 2013 - great show but passive crowd. Did'nt know what to expect. Well. They rocked! The crowd was dominantly what some may call
