QuoteHappy Jack Quotekeefriffhard4life still how can they not do "my generation"? I think its good that they aren't doing it. It shows that they don't need to trot out a well worn song and try to recapture past versions. I like the versions they used to do on the 2006-07 tour where they combined it with Cry If You Want (always felt that song was a "grown-up" My Gener

LLR almost never worked well live - no exclusions this time. One of those songs you always say "want to hear it once" but then the live output is pretty lame. :

So far the Glasgow uploads from last night's gig show that this is about to be a great (another) "Greatest hits they you like them" + some digging into the catalog. Behing Blue eyes a bit weak (Rogers voice). The rest are great. Right were those who advised me that Glasgow people make a great crowd, but them I'm destined to test the Newcastle and Liverpool people instea

Quotetreaclefingers QuotePhilipStaniforth My tickets for Friday 5th December at Nottingham arrived yesterday. I'm getting quite excited now, I saw the Who 25 years ago but I was a bit disappointed. I'm hoping they are a bit less "Vegas" than last time. Good luck with your show...I also saw the Who, probably the same tour I think it was 1988 in Vancouver. Brutal show, jus

Quoteodean73 Anybody recieved thier UK tickets yet? Only two weeks for the Brum concert and not recieved anything yet. For my Liverpool gig my tickets were not shipped (through UPS) until a week ago. I called TM.CO.UK and explained that I would be leaving for a trip, ending at the UK, by Dec. 1st so any delivery date that is after that would be not good. They checked, called me back and said

Quoteschillid The Who won't be bringing back any passed members. Well... they bring the two dead ones on video (during 05:15 and Bell boy) Maybe PT would be smashing his guitar as a gesture to the past? though I would prefer he does that only at the end of the Liverpool gig... so I could be sure he wont hurt his back and cancel a gig I intend attending... And after Nov. 30th we

Another 25 minutes video No surprises, and I like it that way. A bit strange to see them look like a Bilbo Baggins leading an old blind man, but then... that's what happens when you do not die before you get old...

Quotecrawdaddy Just found this short review. The Who at Abu Dhabi. Good review. As it happened it seems they also played Love, Reign o’er Me after 5:15. And, quite expected for a farewell tour, they repeated the Entwisle/Moon gesture from the last Quadrophenia tour: "They went with option two, launching into 5:15, which included a video clip of a staggeringly good bass solo fro

Quotetatters Anyway, it's more than a little disappointing, but I've come to expect this from them. They always say at the start of every tour that this time, they're gonna dig deep into their catalog and shock and amaze their hardcore fans, and then, unless they're doing all of Tommy, or all of Quadrophenia, it's always the same old hits, and of course, they are tour

Well. That’s clearly “greatest hits” type of set list, which is what The Who have been doing since 1999, excluding the Quadraphonia tour. If Townshend played all this on electric guitar, then I would be pleased! All/most war horses are there, maybe not “The Real Me” , but then they put “Listening to you” which Townshend , as I heard more then once with my own ears, said he can no longer stand (“S

I’ll see what king of The Who experience I’m left with after the Dec. gigs I will attend in the UK and if I’ll be left with great taste – maybe I’ll see them in HP too. I hope this tour would be energetic and not a replica of the “Tommy” tour of the late 80’s.

The whole interests discussion is irrelevant for these cases. This is not how "those" people (The Who, the promoters, the distributers) make their money and that is not their motive for pre charging and selling. I'm not even sure that the ticket selling channels (Ticketmaster, eventim) pays the promoters this early in a per ticket pace. They pre sell and pre charge from the same re

QuoteCMH516 What did he say about Entwistle? Some 5-8 minutes of him (HS and a couple of other people) joking about him looking dead while he was still alive and generally dismissing bassists as a non crucial park of rock bands (also mentioning Bill Weiman I think...). It was generally disrepectful in a way I cannot dismiss as "sick humor". It is on youtube somewhere.

As a The Who fan I can never forgive Stern for his vulgarity about the late John Entwistle the day after his passing.

This very question was actually asked by me last June, though I was referring to a stadium gig (Paris). People here claimed that box offices would not be dealing with "upgrades" and as far as my own Paris experience: they were right.

The Who at Newcastle Dec. 9th The Who at Liverpool Dec. 11th The first one would be one of those rare occasions where I cannot say to myself "this must be the last TW concert for me ever...". Though I already saw TW in 3 different occasions for more then 1 night in a tour (NYC-2000, RAH in 2001 and 2001), this is the first time I actually hold tickets for 2 concerts well ahead.

QuoteBeast It would've been a bigger thumbs up for Ticketbastard if they'd told you that in the first place! I reckon they were trying it on because I would think there is probably no legal obligation on you to pay for their mistake. Anyway, all's well that ends well! Yea, I'm pretty sure that's the way it is. Assuming that the promoter takes most of the revenue, leavin

I pucrchased 2 tickets for two consecutive The Who concerts this Dec. One of them (VIP package, or "Souncheck" as they call it) I did from ticketmaster.co.uk, which I only did as it was the only way to get a front row seat. Many weeks later I'm getting a call from their (ticketmaster) office in England. On the other side a somewhay innsecure female voice is telling me that a mistak

I participated in a reception at a suite in a hotel where Mick stayed for 3 nights. It was about two month later. Had a terrible allergy at the time due to weather. Went to the bathroom to wash my red swollen eyes and I assume that when grimly looking at my reflection at the mirror, I might have been as close to a non gig time MJ as I ever was Ammm and I also know a tour guide who guided him.

Smoking room is a good idea. However I assume it wont work there as well. I mean without becoming a street fight. Some IORR'ians come from countries/cultures where PC is acceptable or even harshly enforced, while others come from countries where PC is despised. While both might speak/write in fluent English, in practice you would have 2 people engaging in conversation without using the same
