Found it. Rhythm chugs along a bit like Munich Hilton II on the Paris Outtakes. Though back to back listens show they are rather different. What a great Stones track.

CindyC, pretty sure the rhythm is some far-fetched track I heard on old RS bootlegs (Trident mixes?) as it sounded familiar when I heard it. The lead too sounds similar to what Taylor might lay over the top. I'll listen out and if rehear the Stones boot with the track will update this post. Thanks all for your comments

Would appreciate hearing the original. Pretty sure heard this on a bootleg of Stones outtakes, likely 1968-72. Did a quick youtube FF through some vids but didn't find it. Maybe you know and can help me hear this great track? 1:30 - 1:39 Thank you

Can't help wonder if Jagger, having Jimmy Page onboard for GHS 2020's Scarlet, was in a STAR STAR 1978 mindset when he titled this contained track: Jimmy Page Is Quite A Rage I could not see the reason why If I ever make it back to fun city girl I'll make you jump all night

QuoteTaylor1 The official video has crystal clear video of the Stones 1973 live shows. They are not bootleg quality.Could it mean they have in the archives a film of alive 1973 show Anybody know the characters given in the vid's closing credits? All The Rage backing vid looks to be 1973 London/Brussels + some photos from Australia 1973. Does this mean they got their hands on the BBC taping of the show in decent quality?

QuotedcbaJunk all your VGP and OBR boots. They'll soon be obsolete! >< Oh pretty please. Would LOVE an upgraded "No Expectations" from Nicaraguan Earthquake show '73. Taylor's mighty fine on the slide there.

@Silver Dagger, what quality is your Sep-8-73 show in? You may not want to share the whole show but perhaps you can share a sampler for us to drool over. Based on the existing audience tape of Sep-8-73, the YCAGWYW is on par or even better than the Sep-9-73 show. The GS is done very similar to that show as well, though would like to hear a better copy to hear more of Keith's power chords.

Good time to drop why some of us are GNR fans. They've paid homage to our beloved RS. Here's a Wild Horse intro into their No Expectations inspired 'Patience'.

Would someone be willing to upload the official LA Friday 1975 video of SFTD somewhere (google docs, youtube, dailymotion)? The bootleg vid show some great dancing by Jagger and a line of 70s ladies. Very festive. Just would like to see a better copy if possible. One of my favorite versions of the track.

Quoteyorkey Hello friends! I haven't been on in a while. Today I have a question. 100 Years Ago is one of my favourite Stones songs, but is one that I've always thought never lived up to its potential. The first half is good, SO GOOD, but once it comes to the sped-up jam to the end I think it loses its whimsical freshness and becomes what is actually pretty alright for an outro, but

Quoteswimtothemoon Mick must be a fan. He was at a Chicago U2 show during the Zip Code tour also. Twice in less than six months. Mutual admiration perhaps? U2 have the following Stones tribute snippets in 0'59 - Stones Hyde Park 69 2'23 - Keef early 60s They also covered Paint It Black in the early 90s:

QuoteKennedy I had always suspected that Axl was trying to clone the 89 Stones tour setup, which is a real shame. More ambitious than that. Slash's book said that Axl was trying to clone the STP 1972 tour. Extravagant afterparties and all.

Best GS versions were back when the Stones were dangerous in 72-73. '75 has some OK versions too. These are my favorites: Birmingham '73 - wah-tastic. Wish there was a SB of that standout show. Philadelphia '72 - hard powerchord rhythm by MT

Quotekeefriffhardson the last side on rolled gold. you got sympathy, SFM, shelter and rambler, it basically changed my life forever when i was 16. music never got any better than that.. except for live renditions. been obsessed ever since.. Wow, your experience mirrors mine exactly. That last side of rolled gold was a dose of realism when 80s bubble gum pop didn't do it for me. It was only

Have been moved by both, but moreso by Slash since he's been schooled in the blues. He also gave us Stones fans these great interpretations.

QuotekleermakerDuring the 1971 tour, the first time they did introductions, they only introduced the sidemen: Hopkins, Keys and Price. That's the way they should have done it during the 1972 tour. No introductions during the 1973 tour. People knew them. They intro the whole band except MJ in Sydney 1973. Check out 59:25 Same in Melbourne in 1973. Check out 1:04:05 Same in pe

The Stones are masters of remarketting. In the early 60s they took the US blues and repackaged it for their UK white audience. Now they are doing the same to their historic work to again achieve accolades and (lots of) cash. A market (it seems) eager to consume their offerings.
