Quotepmk251 QuoteChris Fountain Maybe I'm old school - GYYYO version rules. No other can compare. The Brussels performance is an impressive, frenetic piece of music making. It smacks you in the face like an action movie. It has excitement without the pleasure. It wows and leaves me cold. The Ya-Ya's performance is stealthy and restrained. It's subtler in its rhythms, emphasi

Quotemandu what is the Brussels Affair?Im sorry I really dont know. Stones at their live best . Well worth reading to get an understanding of the different 'Brussels' shows in circulation. My personal favorite Brussels bootleg mixes tracks from Brussels 10-17-1973 and London 9-9-1973 (Gimme Shelter, Happy, Street Fighting Man)and Rotterdam 10-14-1973 (Brown Sugar).

Quoterogerriffin If they invite Angus and Malcolm Young as guest, they will not need Mick Taylor on Australian Dates! Angus Young lives in Aalten, Netherlands. Unless AC/DC are touring down under at the same time he probably won't be guesting. Wouldn't mind if he made the trip over though. Heck, just let MT rip on Love In Vain and Gimme Shelter and we'll call it more than a day.

QuotegeorgeV I wish they would not have anyone guest other than Mick Talylor. I'm with you there. They just need to let Mick Taylor rip at least on Love In Vain & Gimme Shelter. Thrown Bitch in the mix so he can do some rhythm too. Oh please Stones Gods make it so at Hanging Rock. Can think of it a one-off special performance like the '73 Earthquake show.

Double bill, Stones & Primal Scream at Hanging Rock. That would be awesome Ask Guns N' Roses to reunite to support them for their last tour? Might get them to do it. More likely Tex Perkins, Tim Rodgers, Jet, Wolfmother or Bernard Fanning/PowderFinger.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Not bad at all. Maybe the most true to the original-version I've ever heard guitar-wise. The guitarist played the original almost note for note. Good work. The singing tone I could do without. Here's a version with spirited vocals and Slash soloing away. Him being a fan of Mick Taylor means he's probably heard Brussels '73. Though the guitarist on

Beautiful version of a fave track. Enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for posting. In case anybody missed then, there's a few live Stone's rendition on their prime (RNRC '68, Hyde Park '69, LA '73). The one done at the 1973 Earthquake benefit in LA with Mick Taylor absolutely stunning. Wish we could get a soundboard of it:

Cool band, like them a lot. Screamadelica was produced by Jimmy Miller and feels like was tuned into the LIB '69 vibe. Screamadelica's 'Loaded' has a SFTD rhythm. Live they incorporate the woo-hoos with plenty of youtube footage showing audience members singing SFTD lyrics as accompanyment.

good these guys are playing other shows. Keeps them sharp. Means too there's a guitar section with a RS history that's ready and available if Keef retires/drops out.

Quotepepganzo Let it bleed is the perfect album (yes, similiar to BB, but the perfect) I too am of this opinion, as is the Rolling Stone magazine editors, that Let It Bleed > Beggars Banquet. LIB has a greater spread of light and shade (Gimme Shelter-LIV, Midnight-YCAGWYW). The live reworks of some of tracks in 72/73 elevating them to further greatness again. Though I can see how BB m

QuoteRobertJohnsonIn 75/76 the band was on top in respect of the guitar play; never before and after (including the MT-years) they played on such a level. Incidentally I like the perfect rhythm section with Bill, Charlie and Ollie Brown who was one of the best additional musicians the Stones ever had. And Billy Preston: Hear the piano work on the medley "If You Can't Rock Me/Get Off Of
