QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteWroclaw Wow--- And I was thinking I was the only one wish IORR would be retired... When's the last time it was good? Ha ha! I don't know. 1976? Brilliantly done by Jagger+Foo Fighters in 2012. Theirs resembling the original or video outtake. Stones' '75 and onward live versions sounding like a average Chuck Berry cover band rehearsing it. Is it ti

Wouldn't mind hearing the warhorses if Taylor was integrated in and some others like Chuck are given a lesser role. In that way the band going back to their blues-rock guitar roots. However, if that isn't going to change then as requested by poster: Out -> IORR, BS, SFTD In -> CYHMK, Sway, Silver Tran, Love In Vain (any deep cuts Taylor has played on)

QuoteThe Sicilian 1969 was their best raw sound 1975 was their best shows 1981 was their best sound as a band 1989 was their best setlist 1997 was their best mature period sound with a very good setlist. The rest is rubbish. Value the opinion but the last comment is 'rubbish'. QuoteTurd On The Run If you ever doubt that the Rolling Stones of 1972/73 were the greates

Live suckers: It's Only Rock N Roll except when Jagger + Foo fighers did it, If You Can't Rock Me though '75 medley with GOMC is cool, Honky Tonk Women just can't match the original drum, Sympathy except '69/'75 versions, Wild Horses, Let It Bleed, Tumbling Dice just coz the original groove is a masterwork, Start Me Up, Satisfaction except '69 GS vid version.

Quotedrbryant One reason IORR hasn't aged well is the sound. It has no life to it. Black and Blue has weaker material, but it was well produced and sounds great, which makes it a joy to play today. Maybe we ask Kevin to give it a remaster using his spectral separation software? He did a marvellous job on the official Brussels:

Quoteab An uninspired album without a keeper on it. The title track sounds like crap in E. It only came to life when played it live in B. Agreed, in reverse. To me the live 1975-2014 renditions are lame compared to the gritty guitar driven studio or outtake that featured on the official vid. Foo Fighters with Jagger finally gave IORR a shot of live salvation in 2012. Keeper? I qu

QuoteliddasIf Brown Sugar was a plate of pasta, the studio version represents the exact balance of spaghetti and condiment, the 72 and 73 versions are a couple of overcooked maccheroni drowned in a sea of chili ketchup ... C Rotterdam '73 BS is the smoking version. Plenty of tasty MT slide lead. What a way to start a show. Damn, where's that time machine when you need one?

Quotekevinkamphuis Quoteflacnvinyl Quotekevinkamphuis Here is a new mix of the alternate Brown Sugar with Mick Taylor's lead solo's way higher in the mix Did you run it through a Dolby filter? Just curious how you were able to bring that out from the outtakes. That is assuming you do not have access to the original tapes! lol It's done with spectral editing. It takes ti

Quotekevinkamphuis Quotekleermaker I'm waiting for your new official BA version Kevin. Very interesting, as the sound of the official BA isn't satisfying at all to me. But well, didn't I say that before? I don't like the sound of the official BA either. Send me a mail for the DL Ditto. Could I also get a download link to the Kevin remix of the official BA please?

Quotekleermaker Quotekevinkamphuis Kleermaker, you're right. I took the official "Gimme Shelter" from Brussels 2nd Show and mixed it like the Brussels Affair bootleg. QuoteStoneburstMuffle is the guy who chimed in on the main RIP L'Wren thread in order to suggest that this would be a good opportunity for them to do Love In Vain, with Taylor playing the guitar solos. Yes, that is what he meant. Yes, I posted a 1972 New York Love In Vain (when L'Wren passed) and a 1973 Perth Love In Vain (when MJ was which coincidentally was the last ever played by M

MJ's understandably keeping a low profile. The Stones and crew have a massive headaches of rescheduling the Aussie shows (inc the Government funded show at Adelaide Oval) if they delay it for anymore than a couple of weeks. Rolling Stones tour reschedule faces cricket, AFL woes. Anybody with links to the Stones camp may suggest this being the time to make better use of MT if proceeding wi

QuoteStoneburst Quotemuffie Condolences to L'Wren Scott's family and friends. If the show must go on then perhaps 'Love In Vain' (with MT) would be a fitting tribute to his former lover? I was wondering who the first person to turn this into a 'more Mick Taylor' thread would be Wonder who would be the first to point the finger in the wrong direction? As mentioned
