QuotevudicusThey would need all the original film elements and would have to edit everything from scratch. Way too much effort for something that already has a DVD/Bluray release. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong. Really lovely of Eagle Rock to organize these top notch remasters for current and future fans to enjoy . They are obviously fans themselves.

Far more prominent guitar work on the alternate release. Seems they've modelled their live performances on this take. The sweet acoustic version on Sticky Fingers was the right release choice. What a gorgeous track

If they were both released today, GHS would be see significantly more success. That's due to having far more light and shade. IORR is bland by comparison.

Is MT the contingency plan when either KR or RW cease being functional? FWIW, KR doesn't seem the same since falling out of that coconut tree in 2006. Might be a case of last man standing as they all hit their 70s.

Honorable mention. The 1975 Flatbed "Brown Sugar" probably inspired by AC/DC to film their flatbed "It's A Long Way To The Top" in 1976 down Swanston Street, Melbourne, Australia. Both awesome publicity.

QuoteDandelionPowderman If you can stomach 11 minutes of YGMR I recommend you listen to this, if you haven't heard it already. The beginning of the song is an embryonic Keith mumble. Later on, Mick chimes in and they find the groove. A good fly on the wall musical documentary of one of the latter day Stones tunes Keiths mumble part has is it sounding to me like 'Take It So Hard

I'd like to see the thread re-instated. IORR is an important interface between the fans and the Stones as I gather the latter visit here. If not then it's pretty clear the elephant in the room (MT and Stones musicianship) is to remain ignored.

Quote71TeleI think a lot of us (though perhaps not a majority) feel this way. There is simply no compelling reason to see 60% of the band that made Sticky Fingers "celebrating" that album without one (actually two) of the band members who made it such a vital piece of work. 60% being more than half. Is that good enough? It crosses a gray area of fraud. Then again, the Stones have be

QuoteCousinC When I see all these (rock!)songs named here I'm baffled. Seems the Stones have always been a Heavy/metal band . .lol The heavy tracks have plenty of guitar power chords. tells us "Power chords are a key element of many styles of rock and especially heavy metal music."

@Stones: for your consideration: You cancelled the Hanging Rock show with Mick Taylor scheduled for Nov 8th like two days beforehand (and a second time to boot) then did a further 4 shows before wrapping up the 14 On Fire tour. Some of us couldn't reschedule around that in such short notice so missed out on seeing MT. So please ensure MT is back on board for the ZIP Code tour. Those of

From QuoteForty years ago Mick Taylor left The Rolling Stones at their peak. He’s just one of a select few guitarists who truly made classic bands, Greg Kot argues. Mick Taylor did something rare and unexpected 40 years ago this week. On 12 December 1974, he walked away from The Rolling Stones. A select few followed in his footsteps over the next few decades, including Joe Perry, Slash an

QuoteCaptainCorella The REFUND for my Hanging Rock tickets has hit my credit card account overnight. (Slightly strangely, it's dated 14th November and today's the 18th (where I am anyway. I know it wasn't there before this morning because - for cashflow reasons - I'm checking my Credit Card balance pretty carefully on at least a twice daily basis). Anyway... money has b

QuoteStonedInTokyoWow. You guys can't seem to take a hint. It's OVER! Just passing the message along. If they did reschedule the Hanging Rock for the tour end then and only then would I go. It might end up being a moment in history.. last stop ever. Otherwise the refund for Hanging Rock will more than pay for the LA Friday DVD. It's a win either way.

Quotemuffie Has anybody received their Hanging Rock ticket refund? So nobody has received a refund for their Hanging Rock ticket as yet? I haven't received mine. Meaning there's still a possibility of a reschedule of suggested date Nov 27-29. It would be remarkable if the Stones were to finish their tour and possibly their career at a 'Hanging' Rock show.

QuoteCaptainCorellaIt's been cancelled. End of story (until we all start wondering when the money will arrive!) That's right. I'll be 100% convinced the show has been cancelled when I get a refund. Hasn't arrived yet. Anybody else get theirs? If not, then there's still a chance of Ticketek holding the funds for a rescheduled show around November 27 to 29. That
