Rolling Stones Sydney gig to go ahead but Victorian fans angry QuotetheagePromoter Frontier Touring has issued a short statement to say the Rolling Stones will play in Sydney on Wednesday, allaying fears the great rock band's tour may be in turmoil after Saturday's Hanging Rock concert was cancelled due to Mick Jagger's throat infection. "Remaining shows are proceeding a

Quotemaumau +1 sorry for those who are missing the gig, but shut happens, i imagine mick being really upset about not been able to perform, hope he gets in perfect shape soon and praise to him for the second melbourne concert, it must have been a struggle and pain for him but he gave it all as usual There were only 2 Melbourne shows. Rod Laver on the 5th of November, and Hanging Rock on the 8t

Anybody notice Taylor's dimished role since Jagger became single after L'Wren's suicide? Is Jagger trying to market the band to a more hip crowd (inc young ladies which he has a fondness for) with daggy Taylor being a casualty?

With Taylor's decreased role since earlier in the year when I purchased my Hanging Rock ticket, it's no great loss to me. More of the same I saw in 2006 already. Get a refund. Perfectly timed to buy the LA Friday DVD released in the next week or so. So no matter what, The Stones will get some Xmas cash from me. Maybe funds their retirement?

QuoteswimtothemoonBottom line is: we need to figure out a way to bring Mick Taylor into more Than one tune. I'm not counting Satisfaction for obvious reasons as anyone Of us hardcore fans who have seen the current show will understand. The Stones, being rock n roll survivors themselves will know about 'the last man standing'. Hence, anybody want to get Ronnie severely drunk or

Star Star is the same track as released on the bootleg with a much better upfront mix. As you'd expect, the Video is the same but now has better close up angles.

Quote71Tele QuoteRockman The video's speak for themselves.....still can't agree ... Yeah there's lil' Taylor in Next Goodbye but as far as Angie goes Keith makes him look like Gabriel who accidently took a wrong turn into hell on the way home That gets it exactly right. Spectral Keith and choir boy Taylor. In the '73 vids Keith was sickly pale, skinny and missing fr

There won't be another band to capture the attention of generations like the Stones. That's because the huge range of media and it's consumption is far more diverse now than it was during Stones era. They are the Soul Survivors (sic) of a bigone marketting era. Last band that had a chance of taking their place was Guns N Roses. Unfortunately they imploded in 1995. Coincidental

Quotestonehearted <<I'd love to hear Bowie vocals>> If you can stand this extremely low-fi live recording (from November 14, 1974 and dubbed to random 8-mm footage), you'll hear him blending the IORR chorus into the chorus for Diamond Dogs--which is a good indicator of what the main influence was, musically, for IORR. Was it perhaps a Jagger-Bowie song? IORR, the

Midnight Rambler from Shanghai: QuoteDamn! I am at a loss for words after that.? QuoteUndoubtedly the best rendition of MR since Taylor left The Stones. He's bringing the song sky high, especially from 4:23 on.? QuoteWow, I thought the 9th was the best I've heard since Taylor's return but this far eclipses that, almost sounds like Taylor channeling Hendrix at that 4:3

The fun police got to him before his guitar playing elevated the band out of this stratosphere. Example: Seriously, he was doing 3 tracks on the Asian tour in March (Slipping Away, MR, Satisfaction), though did a one off extra Silvertrain fan vote in Tokyo. In the European leg they've pulled Slipping Away so he's been downgraded to two tracks. Fingers crossed he gets more airt

Quoterollingrichard Indeed, it was great and that band doesn't exists anymore. But please keep in mind that the boys were hardly 30 years old, at that time. The drive, the speed, the enthousiasm....you can't keep that up for a lifetime. I'm only 51, but I can't keep up the speed of life which I had when I was 30 ! Rick James explained it well : "Cocaine is a hell

'73 are the definitive live versions and my favorite. It's pretty much 'hard rock' with Keiths heavy bar cords and MT's soaring lead. A genre usually associated with Aerosmith or Guns N Roses but with the Stones dabbling a bit there in '73 and '74: 100 Years Ago, IORR, Dance Little Sister and You Can't Rock Me. Other than '73, the 1990 Tokyo Dome

Quotenovica maybe i'm wrong, but i think that they haven't played ,so far, not even once ? That's right, not played yet. Wish they would. It's a number that makes Jagger look very sexy to the ladies (hint hint, if MJ's reading.. pls play it).

I'm only aware of the 50th anniversary tour including a choir for YCAGWYW. You might appreciated the Dave Frost '69 version using the studio backing track, choir and all. Though they skip the 50s choir intro. Europe '73 version, eg: Brussels, Birmingham, London didn't use a choir. Mick Taylor played a luscious lead and Trevor Lawrence a spectacular sax lead:

Quotewhitem8 Gs and Rs the newly anointed Stones? Ridiculous. They were a shallow 80s hard rock hair band copying the stones with their own 80s schlock production and one of the worst lead singers in a rock band. Like listening to a dying cat on steroids. And case in point where are they now? No where. Well in Vegas with fake dreads wearing a girdle to hide his middle age paunch. Technically, A

Don't bother going to see the current lineup of Axl Rose and his Guns'n'Roses. It's hardly the same band. If want to see what they were, watch the Ritz '88 show. Their finest hour, just like some may say that Brussels '73 was the Stones'. GNR was a blues-rock band with punk influences. They rocked nicely during the hair band era, being pretty much the b

Quotelaertisflash On previous tours I have attended some very good versions which included good Keith's solo's. Don't count me between IORR "haters". I think what annoys many people (i mean fans) is that the song sounds as typical Chuck Berry number live while the studio version could be the best Ti - Rex track ever... No problem to me. Yup. Live it sounds Chuck Berry

How about a 'More Mick Taylor Pls' message being held up by a number of ppl at the front of numerous shows campaign? Ensure the TV crew sees it and broadcasts it on the concert screen. QuotetriceratopsAgreed! I was surprised when it did not turn out this way. By now its a farce. Why even bother taking him along? Just give MT a payment for past songwriting he did not get credit on and be done with it. Wonder if Jagger has become more unbearing since the L'Wren incident? Rather than loosen the leash, he's tightened it, unwilling to split any of the attention with anyb

I'd say the Stones threw him a bone so he'd cease TV appearances as a daggy relic doing old Stones tracks, diluting the Stones perpetually youthful brand. His limited appearance on stage may mean the Stones have little confidence in his current abilities. Could be related to MT's serious addictions, a battle KR has seemingly conquered. Maybe KR has some advice he can volunteer? MT
