These recordings are no different than the boots which I bought in the 70s. They must have used the same audio source, which is a bit strange. The quality of the audio is the same. Who was that bootlegger/taper of fame who recorded this, Mike something or other?

Yeah Millard. And yes, it is scary how good some of those boots were.

I am still of the opinion that the booklet is correct and the show is from July 12, not 11.

The Ward Records Deluxe version has an additional 2 CD's so you get 2 shows. I believe the 12th and 13th. Deltics may need to correct me but I think I have the dates right.

Correct and that is the show from the 12th (what we always thought it was from the 11th)

It IS the 11th show, the date on the official release is wrong. The 12th show has Jagger singing bits of Fa Fa Fa (Sad Song).

Proof, please, that it is not vice versa.

So then you have an extraordinarily expensive incomplete box?

It’s a shame but Mick makes a lot of the show recorded on video unlistenable. I think it’s the worst performance from him I’ve ever seen.

Of course, this could very well be the case. As far as I know, the info that Jagger doing Fa Fa Fa is the 12th show originates from bootlegs/unofficial sources. One would think that the Stones own documentation (the labelling of the original multitrack source tapes in particular) should be more accurate.

But who do we trust the most - Millard or the Stones?
