>> The thanks are due to bwaudby who shared the music ... (plus charlotte
for being such a good host to the tracker, of course.) <<

well multi thanks & praises to BWaudby and Charlotte then!
and to the source who passed them along to begin with
and to the Rolling Stones - this is beautiful stuff!

yeah - Berlin and that fur coat with no knickers :E
but slithering back to the subject: any hint of a hope for more of this SW material?
if anyone's in touch with the gallant BWaudby and his source ...
i'm lighting the Incense of Grateful Encouragement for them :E

LOL..I'm trying to recollect that! Did I miss something?

he mentioned to me about having other stuff, but it didnt appear to be from these sessions. He got the impression much of what he had has already been bootlegged but who knows.

>> Did I miss something? <<

... as someone around here recently put it: Hmmph! Thats gratitude for you!! :E

but anyway: thanks for investigating further with BWaudby - i thought i'd heard something about his source having more SW stuff,
but i take it i misunderstood something. anyway pass on continued thanks & praises for this, all right?
it makes the world a more beautiful place.

A bump for one of my best RS "outtakes" memories (with CYWOW in 09/94)...wonder if anyone heard from BWaudby again...or whether we have him to thank for the second set of SW outtakes that had "Giving it Up" and "Ready Yourself" with a Keith Vocal...

Here's hoping 2013 will bring us more unknown outtakes or even rumoured outtakes that haven't yet circulated, i.e. outside some "private collections"...

We never did. He didnt re-register when we moved to the new domain in 2008 and I have no contact details for him, unfortunately.

would love to but the amount of use it was getting (or rather the lack of it) didnt justify asking someone to privately host it on a long term basis.

Well, if the other stuff he had was of the same quality than his SW outtakes, it could have been a treat. No matter if it has been bootlegged before or not, quality upgrades are always welcome!

Imho there's a suffisant amount of Stones blessed with a ADSL/cable connection now to restart the experience...

Plus you could advertise the "new RO" through IORR (if BV is okay with the idea).
A "Stones-only" tracker? Yum!

We already did that last time - well, in the sense that we publicised it on this and other boards. It got a lot of use for a while but it tailed off.

There seems to be a lot of technical issues required with hosting a tracker from someone's own server. Getting volunteers to do it is a problem - its a lot to ask of anyone.

Not having a lot of Stones activity in the last 4-5 years doesnt exactly help either.

Must say I've never looked into what was required but given that there aren't that many trackers around it must require some work, knowledge and time.

Thanks for the info, so he came and he went, but will not be forgotten! Hopefully this current decade will have its own generous uncirculated outtake donator...sooner rather than later!

you could always do this WITHOUT a tracker... "DHT" is still using the BT technology, with most BT clients nowadays... it's possible to share the .Torrent file and whomever wants it, gets it... that is,as long as the initial seeder stays on throughout the initial seeds and then the leaches don't run...

Other wise, it seems most have found ways to share their nuggets either via the trackers already known or via rapid share etc...

Or through the old and trusted "recordable media in a jiffy bag" method... cool smiley
