I'll bring you a copy on Sunday if you have no luck. As far as trees go, I dont add people to them - they sign up once it becomes available

RO = Rocks Off, the website I co-run

a 'tree' is a system of distributing a recording amongst people who register an interest in acquiring said material. You sign up when the recording is offered and after the distribution system ('tree') is organised and mailed out to everyone in question, you receive the discs as part of a trade (or blanks and postage) arrangement with someone else who has also signed up.

With the advent of Bit Torrents, we dont do them much anymore as getting the recordings in the new way is much faster and less problematic

it means some lowlife shark will take what fans distribute to others for free, package it as a bootleg and sell it

Burn it to CDR and print out the artwork provided instead. Total cost to you - 2 blanks and a piece of paper (about 50p). Much better than giving some gobshite £30 for the same thing.

People who do that are scum. And some folks still wonder why collectors have rare stuff that they 'sit on' and wont distribute widely to just anyone.

well, you didnt "learn" it from the guy who distributed it, so I'd take that promise with a pinch of salt..

I'll bet there's some excerpts from 25x5 on that 2cd-set...+ some official mixes taken from radio-promo-12".

WRONG ! In definitive version which made the album Mick is singing to Keith's riff, is following it. On this demo, Keith is following the whoile melody of the song with his vocals (and not only the riff). This is amazing.

It's faaaar more than 8000 views. If you click (last post), which most people do, it won't be counted as a "view".

It will become commercially available from an even better source than the one posted.........it's a European release possibly a double CD release and no 25x5 or commercially available B-side tracks as filler. Will come in amazing and appropriate gatefold packaging and no cheap scum CD-R releases at 30 pound or whatever. Double CD at 25 euro, nice huh!? JUst heard it, not involved but thought I'd share it with fellow fans. And don't be such a wise crack to blame bootleggers for releasing stuff that's around on torrents. I'll hear you crying when I play my silver factory pressed bootleg in 3-5 years and your CD-R copy is uh "empty" and you can only dream of the material you once possessed.

I like sharing aswell but do prefer to have the best possible releases of top notch material on factory pressed CD or DVD!

Factory pressed CD's aren't always top notch. Just depends on where and how they're pressed. And (just as CD-R's) can get damached too.

But hey, don't be insulted, if you wanna pay (a lot of) money for a factory pressed CD go ahead. It's your choice. If people wanna burn it onto CD-R it's their choice.

did the bootlegger burgle the home of the guy who uploaded it?

of course not. smiling smiley

but thought

I'll wise crack all I want. They're scum. There. I said it again. Sue me.

Bollocks. I've bought about 5 or 6 "factory pressed" bootleg CDs in my life. I've been collecting tapes (and latterly CD-Rs) for over 20 years, with a collection of a couple of thousand Stones items - all of them shared or traded with fans the way they should be and in the pre-CDR era, many of them sourced from the lowest generation possible prior to the material being factory pressed by bootleggers, so I guess I'll survive without these earth shattering masterpieces you refer to. If you think my existence is so empty I'm going to be jealous of someone just because they have a bootleg CD, you're in fantasy land

Good for you. If you believe you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and wish to pay ten times or twenty the price to believe you have something special, Im delighted for you. Its your right. I still maintain that people who download stuff for free thats offered to fans and then factory press it for their own gains are beneath contempt.
