Interesting comment I thought from the official announcing the line-up..

" as of 30 seconds ago, the RS "tour is sold out"(??) and Jazz Fest will be the only place to buy a RS ticket".

Obviously not true, but he seemed to believe so.. the "as of 30 seconds ago" made it seem like he may have just been given some info.

That's an insanely good line up of music

Why doesn't the U.S. get a new name for its tour this summer? The name 'No Filter' never had much of an impact anyway. Do they just not care anymore?

Depending on scheduling, possible guests with the Stones - Taj Mahal, Gary Clark Jr, Buddy Guy, Jerry Lee Lewis, Robert Cray, and Dave Matthews. I'd bet we see at least one of those.

Mavis Staples and Ivan Neville are both on the May 2 schedule.
Endless possibilities!

Veto!

BTW the Stones didn't exactly avail themselves of special-guest opportunities at Desert Trip.

True as to Desert Trip, but that's not New Orleans during Jazz Fest. I expect the lads will get out a bit at the clubs at night and have more than 1 guest.

What a line up!
Intersting to see "Karl Denson's Tiny Universe" on the list.

He’s doing three shows in New Orleans:
April 26 Jazz & Heritage Festival
April 26 Tipitina’s
May 3 Orpheum Theater (Aretha Franklin tribute)

Should they still play Midnight Rambler? It`s too predictable!

Isn't that one one of the few numbers that still are somewhat unpredictable? Or do you mean the middle section, where Mick get the crowd to chant?

Maybe, I`m not that into it, only judging from recent gigs shown on NRK during the last 5 years or so. When people hear it, they know it. Many has heard it a lot of times before. Of course there can be differences in the playing from time to time, but those differences are a yawnfest!

That's the song where they change around the most. Sometimes they play a rendition that lasts for 10 minutes, other times it's 14 minutes.

Mind you, those guitar licks and that interplay is never a yawn fest for this listener!

Man I am with ya! No matter what I think I might feel about it, every time they start that groove I can't help but give over.. My personal favorite song live

I look forward to 2 hours of solid music with a lot of energy. I know there are warhorses and will appreciate them. This will be the No Complaining on the Set List tour for me.

Midnight Rambler is the money shot!

It's been the true centerpiece of the set for some time, at least in my mind...

Yes - it's the saving grace of a warhorse ridden setlist and never get's old!

Agreed about Midnight Rambler live being stellar these days- may be the single biggest reason I continue to spend absurd amounts of money to continue seeing them.
