Its funny (maybe the wrong word?)(sad?) that reading your post I had a flashback to shows where it wasn't a 6 year old making my show not as good (no one ruins my concerts 100%) it was an adult acting like a child... whining, losing interest, getting hurt lost sick, too drunk, wanting to leave...
When the concert starts "the enjoyment window" is only open for so long before it slams shut.
When the lights go down It is time to "get it while the getting is good" for a max of probably 150 minutes... and if I spend 15-20 minutes screwing around with a child of any age (6-45) it is wasting precious concert minutes.
But of course, I guess it all depends on what one's objective is...
To each their own and more power to you all.
Have fun, because fun is a good thing to have.

Well. My boy stayed up New Years until 1.30am and was alive and kicking. We didnt force him but offered him his bed, nah - he just loved to stay up. It all depends.
After reading many really nice posts I will try to go with my boy once the Stones hit Europe in 2017/18.

Go for it. The Stones may not be touring much longer, and they will remember it for the rest of their lives. Even if they whine about it at the time, they will appreciate the memory of the show later. I still remember seeing a double bill of Jack Benny and Wayne Newton with my family when I was five, and putting money in Jack's tambourine and having Wayne wave to me. It will be a family memory for you all.

Take the kid and bring earplugs for them. If they end up not liking it/being bored/scared and are interfering with other's good time at the concert. Please take them to the hallway/concession stand/somewhere else, so others can enjoy the concert.

As much as I pray that my 5 y/o becomes a Stones fan like his old man, I wouldn't take him to a concert of my choosing. Simple as that I think.
On a related note, however, I have an 8 y/o dog named 'Angie' who wags her tail whenever I play - you guessed it - 'Angie.' If I make my son sing 'Angie' to her and post it on Facebook or YouTube will he hate me later in life?

Taking kids under 7 or 6 is totally ridiculous . It's too loud for a start they will want to go to the toilet just as soon as mick Taylor plugs in. They will want some chips or other crap all night long getting in the way of your enjoyment of the show and those around you. I have young kids too and God love them but they won't appreciate it. A waste of time and a $400 ticket . Take them to the new chipmunk movie. They will have a better time.

I took mine while she was 6 at Lisbon Rock In Rio show during On fire 2014 tour. The Stones started at midnight and lasted till 2 a.m. But before that we watched Gary Clark Jr. too.
She was OK with plugs in her ears. The only complain from her side was that the Stones did not play Ruby Tuesday - the song I used as a lullaby for her. There was also a scary moment during Doom and Gloom, but I explain her that those zombies were a joke. Anyway, Monster High and those type of cartoons are more scary.
The day after the show is a different story, but yes, she was OK with the show.

I took my 7 and 12 year olds (at the time - 2002) to a show. I felt it was a part of proper parenting! They knew the band members and songs. I have also taken them to see The Allman Brother Band, John Fogerty, Marty Stuart, and The Beach Boys - a well-rounded education.
My oldest sons 6th grade friends didn't know who the hell the Stones were, but couldn't believe he saw No Doubt!

I would recommend 10 years and up ...(but who I'm I)....... but on the other hand if you go to see them on an outside venue you can stand up way back from the stage .......but no arenas or stadiums for little children

1994...we left the kids with grams, went to the show and our ears rang for 24 straight. Ronnie's amp was cranked TO THE MAX, I mean near ear blisters. That being said, I wouldn't trade it for nothin'!

Leave the kids at home and go be a kid yourself at Stones concert without having to give one thought of protecting them from an infinite number of bad things that can/could/might/will happen to them at a huge concert.

I took my 6 years old to the show in Vienna 2003. We had a mighty fine time and the only extra thing we needed were earplugs for kids.
In 2014 he came with me to Rome and sure things have changed: as a 17 years old he went for t-shirts and beer while I rested my bones on the greenfield.
But both times were very special in a way and I'm glad we made it back then.
Know your kid(s) and you will know if it's a good or a bad idea. Don't let nobody else tell you what to do cause THAT would be ridiculous.

Took my son on the last two tours when he was 12 and 14 and he had a blast at both and really appreciates the experience.
Took him to Alice Cooper when he was 11, Paul McCartney a bit later, Rush, Ringo, and Jimmy Buffett recently (we go to the Gulf of Mexico annually so he kind of got the Buffett bug on those trips).
Next up AC/DC, The Who, and Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard.
He's determined to catch all the legends while he can.
And yes he has a good set of ear plugs.

im a parent and would never take a young kid to a rolling stones concert. young kids want their bed after a certain point, you cant negotiate with them to stay up and fight off the tiredness, they want to fall asleep and to deprive them of this is uncaring at best. they will simply lose interest once tiredness kicks in, so whats the point in being there. taking a 6 year old to a rolling stones concert is just a stpuid idea and for whos benefit.
then theres the fact the adult wont enjoy a stones gig if they have to put up with a kid who is whinging cos they want to sleep or go to the toilet or want a drink etc, then theres the noise and crowd they might get scared because of it.
if the kid is older say 12 and they want to go, not just go because you want them too, then thats fine but you have to make them understand that they stay to the end, and if they dont like it thats tough. it was thier choice to come.

My daughter first saw the Stones in 2003 when she had just barely turned nine. She loved it as I had thoroughly brainwashed her by that point. I knew that after she told me she liked the Stones better than Britney Spears.
No ear plugs, but then again our seats were on the side and kind of behind the stage, but it was fine.

My wife and I took our 5 young boys - ages 5,7,9,11,13 - to see the Stones in Orlando last summer. The best decision we ever made! It was the highlight of our/their trip to Orlando (which included visits to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Sea World)! Our 5 year old was impacted (positively) the most believe it or not. He has been on a non-stop Stones mission since then: looking through my various Stones books and pictures, listening to any and every Stones CD he can get a hold of in my collection, watching many many You Tube Stones clips, etc. all under my direction (to make sure we leave out any of the too 'adult' stuff for his age). He sings Stones songs strutting around our house like he's Mick, still 7 months later! He literally loves the Stones as much as I do, which is saying A LOT! I'm not sure this would work for every family, but taking all of our young children to see the Stones I know will be one of those memories we/they will treasure for our lifetime!

Have any of you brought your kids (under 10yo) to a show? If so, I have a few questions…
1) did they last the entire night?
2) did they use earplugs?
3) could my 5yo and 3yo survive a show?
I don’t want to have any regrets about my kids not seeing the Stones while they’re still touring…
