Now that's exciting ;-) Depending on what happens tonight he might be asked a few questions unrelated to his wartime book on the 27th !

I didn't want to wear any Stones clothing, but you're right - the book isn't in the picture! Rookie mistake!

It's a nice picture, thanks a lot. Don't worry about the book. Bill surely can do his own PR.

Billy in the Wars (Paperback)
Bill Wyman

Billy in the Wars is the illustrated memoir of ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, recalling his experiences as a young boy growing up in wartime Britain. Bill brings history to life through the personal lens of his childhood memories, where grim anecdotes of war are punctuated by moving moments of childhood innocence and joy. Three-year-old William George Perks (now Bill Wyman) was living with his parents and brother in working-class Sydenham, South London, when war broke out. Over the coming years he experienced endless terrifying hours spent in air-raid shelters, the constant droning of doodlebugs overhead, a near miss with a German fighter-bomber, and evacuations from London to new rural adventures. Out of a backdrop of constant fear and hunger, Bill learned the importance of persistence, courage and resilience; values that ultimately led him out of his neighbourhood and on to a vast and exciting future.

Still coming up with an error for me, and I've tried two browsers. (Admittedly it's MalwareBytes that's not happy).

I've alerted someone with a good contact at the site to let them know.

Picturing the Stones: Panel Discussion and Q&A

Featuring Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and renowned photographers Gered Mankowitz, Denis O’Regan and Greg Brennan.

To celebrate the launch of new ACC Art Books publication The Rolling Stones: ICONS, Iconic Images Gallery will be hosting an evening of discussion and reminiscence, with a panel starring founding Stones member and photographer Bill Wyman, along with several renowned photographers lucky enough to have captured the best rock and roll band of all time.

Hear what it’s like to be on-the-stage, backstage, at home or in the studio with the Stones, and how the band has (or hasn’t) changed over their six-decade-long career, from a panel featuring the one and only Bill Wyman; Gered Mankowtiz, the Rolling Stones’ official photographer in the 1960s; Denis O’Regan, who captured the band throughout the 1980s and 90s; and Greg Brennan, documentor of the 21st-century Stones.

“Often, we just see the byline of the photographer next to a picture. In this collection, we now learn insider information about the Rolling Stones from the contributors who carried cameras.” — Reader’s Digest

Join us from 6.30pm at the Iconic Images Gallery Piccadilly, where signed fine art and books by participating photographers will be available to view and buy. The price of your ticket is deductible from any purchase made in the gallery on the night.

Tickets are limited.
