Took my kids to see Raffi years ago...crying, screaming, fits in the aisle...and that was just me. I had the shudders for years every time I thought about it.

I took my 7 and 12 year olds (at the time - 2002) to a show. I felt it was a part of proper parenting! They knew the band members and songs. I have also taken them to see The Allman Brother Band, John Fogerty, Marty Stuart, and The Beach Boys - a well-rounded education.
My oldest sons 6th grade friends didn't know who the hell the Stones were, but couldn't believe he saw No Doubt!
Letting child to watch Disney channel on cable IS a bad parenting .Quote

Sorry, but taking kids under 12 to see a Stones show is just bad parenting.

im a parent and would never take a young kid to a rolling stones concert. young kids want their bed after a certain point, you cant negotiate with them to stay up and fight off the tiredness, they want to fall asleep and to deprive them of this is uncaring at best. they will simply lose interest once tiredness kicks in, so whats the point in being there. taking a 6 year old to a rolling stones concert is just a stupid idea and for whos benefit.
then there's the fact the adult wont enjoy a stones gig if they have to put up with a kid who is whinging cos they want to sleep or go to the toilet or want a drink etc, then there's the noise and crowd they might get scared because of it.
if the kid is older say 12 and they want to go, not just go because you want them too, then that's fine but you have to make them understand that they stay to the end, and if they don't like it that's tough. it was their choice to come.
personally if i go to a stones concert i wouldn't want anyone ruining it, older kid or younger.
